Link to this post from yesterday I made (not realizing it was the Entries thread rather than the Ladies) about qualifications for the finals:

http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/sh...p-2013-Entries&p=771681&viewfull=1#post771681

Summary:

Sotskova is in the final on all but a technicality (a single incredibly unlikely possibility of a combination of Daleman/Turzynbaeva placements with ridiculously high scores)

Turzynbaeva, Daleman, Oba, and Sakhanovich are the only factors here as no one else could get into even the 6th qualification spot.

Turzynbaeva has the best chance at that last spot (the most options).

Ouch, Hannah.

Judging by current placements, excluding the fact that the last group still hasn't gone, that final spot is still way up for grabs.

what a very low score for Hannah
is she still injured ?

She stepped out of her flip, two footed the axel and landed the loop but the rest was great. But a 39?

As far as the injury, I have heard her practices here have been going very well.

Too bad for Hannah. I expected her to be much higher. The flip jump was underrotated. I don't know what happen with the loop. Maybe she will do better in the long.

No, she didn't double the flip and loop.

Yes, she didn't double the flip and loop, but she received level two for FSSp, URed the 3F and her 3Lo was downgraded.

She also didn't do any combination jumps.

Yeah I just saw the protocol and the UR calls. Poor girl. Will be sending her an encouraging text message. Hoping she pulls it together for the long, she is so much better than that.

She seems lost her triples! Her 3Lo is more than half circle short. 2A needs knee up more too to get it clean.

Wish her doing better in FS

She was struggling with her injury for a long time...I'm not sure when it started but im pretty sure it lasted the whole summer. as far as I know its healed, but she hasn't competed since us nationals, that's 10 months ago. Her confidence just wasn't there tonight. Hannah's a fighter, she will be just fine :)

I agree. I did hear she had been injured and it takes time to come back to competitive forms both physically mentally and emotionally even after the injury is healed. I am guessing she will regain her former shape within the next month or two.

My favourites: Sakhanovich, Iushenko, Ziquan Zhao and Kyuen Kim.

Kyuen Kim was a surprise just like Maisy Hiu Chiung Ma from the Baltic Cup. She doesn't have difficult jumps and she seems to be still working on her loop but she has good presentation speed and presence on the ice.

I had almost given up on Ziquan Zhao and I am glad she did better than ever and she now has 3Lz-3T!!

As for the Russians, great job! Sakhanovich is still struggling with growth spurt but she has so much potential and beautiful presentation.

Iushenko should have gotten a second event. Too bad this is the last junior one... :(

I am also glad to see Ziquan Zhao finally put a good performance here. It appears to me she put some weight (in a good way) which may contribute to her better jumps and overall skating quality.
