is this competition for points ?

Seniors looks to be a good competition and stacked
    Sinitsina/Zhiganshin, Papadakis/Cizeron, Yanovskaya/Mozgov, Tobias/ Stagniunas, Koch/Nuchtern, Kolbe/Caruso, Zlobina/Sitnikov, Agafaonova/Ucar

I am surprised no Konkina/Reviya in either Novice of Juniors list

I'm interested to see that Yanovskaya & Mozgov are competing in seniors here! That's new.

Konkina/Reviya are in the Non ISU Juniors list-what that exactly means, or why they were put in that designation, I don't know.

No US competitors in the whole competition

The number of Senior B events in Europe relative to North America and Asia is still staggeringly imbalanced. There's finally one in North America, but I'm puzzled as to why we still don't see an event in Asia (unless I am mistaken) ...?

Asian Trophy & SkateDownUnder probably qualify as Senior Bs; SkateDownUnder certainly. I believe a qualifying TES score can be earned at Asian Trophy?

The curious thing is that despite the popularity of skating there, there is no Senior B in Japan.

How old are they? Maybe they're too young for the actual " ISU junior" level (like I know some US-Nationals-Junior skaters have had to compete Novice in spring internationals due to age limits) but they have that so the skaters can still get experience with their junior programs?

Well, the strange thing about Y/M competing as Senior is that they have to learn the Finnstep in order to do the Senior SD...

That is indeed strange. I wonder whether they plan to compete as Seniors or Juniors at Russian Nationals?

what's the use of competing in both junior and senior when you need to learn different patterns and steps sequences ?

Yeah, if they wanted to compete ISU, they'd have to compete as Novice based on ages. But maybe they wanted to compete Junior programs. If so, that's why it's designated "Non-ISU" because it doesn't follow the ISU international age rules according to Rule 107 in the General regulations document.

Well, the step sequences can remain the same, but the pattern dance thing is really strange...

Yep, some teams do that. Like McNamara/Carpenter of the US. Their first ISU Junior season was last season, but they had already competed at the Junior level nationally twice.
