She probably twinged her hamstring on the 2A fall when she flipped out and slipped off her edge and fell.

Her coach should take the blame for this. She wasn't ready and needed more time to heal and actually run through her programs. She had nothing to gain but everything to lose.

yep and competing in her next GP risk another premature injury
I'd say her team is all to blame for this, she should focus on the Olympics
she wont medal anyways in Cup of Russia, a non threat and is not a "home ice" soil so no inflated marks for Osmond

I have a different opinion - she needs competition practice and to be competition ready.

She has said in interviews that it is a different leg than her foot injury. She did not feel it until the next morning. Kaetlyn's team is really protective of her when it comes to injury recovery. If she was not ready and cleared by her medical group then she would have pulled out before the competition. She wasn't ready for Saskskate and WD. She has been very vocal about how much she loves to compete and wants to compete. It is her joy. I don't think anyone is the blame for this. Injuries happen to all athletes. Hers just happened to go public due to WD. She also stated that if it was Nationals or Olympics she would have pushed through it. So it sounds more precautionary than a full blown injury.

There is no pressure on her in Russia. It would actually be a good experience for her. She will experience the travel and culture there prior to Olympics. There is no pressure to make the GP Final. She will get the opportunity to have her programs done in competition and get feedback with a few months to go. She has mentioned prior that these Olympics are mainly about experience. Her goal was always 2018.
