When I was posting the Eurosport schedule for Skate Canada, I warned you that Eurosport were going to be broadcasting a snooker tournament from China this week, and that the coverage of the Cup of China was likely to be affected by this.
At that time, I didn't have the tournament format for the China International. So, I didn't realise that by the time the Cup of China started, we would be down to one table.
The snooker is mostly going to be shown on Eurosport 1.
The skating is mostly going to be shown on Eurosport 2.
So, happy days!!!
The only complicating factor is that there is a World Touring Car meeting in China this weekend as well, which Eurosport 1 is showing. As a result, the snooker is starting on Eurosport 2 on Saturday, and will switch to Eurosport 1 once the WTCC qualifying is over. So, if the WTCC runs late, the snooker won’t switch until late, and it will eat into the Free Dance. So, fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly in qualifying
So, in one weekend Eurosport are showing:
Snooker from Chengdu
Skating from Beijing
Touring Cars from Shanghai
Anybody fancy a Chinese?!
The coverage on Eurosport Deutschland and Eurosport France is exactly the same apart from 2 exceptions:
ESP Deutschland is repeating the highlights programme in the wee small hours of Monday (ESP France is showing the New York Marathon);
ESP France is repeating the Pairs Short before they show the repeat of the Men’s Short on Friday (ESP Deutschland is showing Boxing)
So, I would suspect that this means they are largely keeping to the Eurosport International schedule.
On top of all this, British Eurosport are planning to show a whole pile of additional repeats of the Cup of China that the other Eurosports are not showing.
So, contrary to what I feared, there’s no shortage of coverage of the Cup of China!!!
