Shredded fabric black costumes again. At least this time Bobrova's dress is short, so I don't get nervous about someone tripping over fabric like a few years ago.

And Bobrova/Soloviev fall into 2nd, rightly so. They need to polish and rethink that FD a bit before Rostelecom.

And my top 5 predictions were correct again, so yay

That Vivaldi program from Bobrova/Soloviev was BS. Those lifts look recycled or something lower tier teams would execute.
P/B were beautiful. Just need to tidy up some spots. CONGRATS TO Nathalie and Fabian!!!

    Really?
Compare their SS and you'll laugh... They are on two different planets, there should be no question and still the russians won it on both programs.

    P/B got a 10.0 for Choreography.
Is this the first time for them?

Aaaaaaaaaand I JUST missed the free dance. Shoot!

Looks like P/B really rebounded in a big way here in the free dance! I think winning here was vital for them to show signs of life as far as being on the podium at Sochi.

Question to those who have seen the the French teams SD and FD, does it seem like so far they've put for focus into FD at this point in the game? I'm looking forward to watching it once video goes up!!!

Chock and Bates also bested the FD score of the Shibutani's at Skate America (I know we're not supposed to compare events!) however the Shib Sibs had a fall at SKAM.

This all definitely makes for exciting development in the race for the American AND Olympic Podium!!

And the French win!!! Great start of the day
During the CoC SD TV broadcast on Universal Sports, I believe Tanith Belbin mentioned that S/B redid their programs after getting negative feedback about them earlier in the season.

What else did Tanith say? How about about P&B and C&B?

Pechalat/Bourzat: level 3 on steps, level 4 on the rest (base: 40.20)
Bobrova/Soloviev: level 3 on steps, level 2 and 3 on two lifts, level 4 on rest (base: 38.20)
    Chock/Bates: same as P/B

B/S definitely needs to work on the levels

It looked like both P&B and C&B had put much more effort into the FD than their SD.

I do think the 10.0 is P&B's first: good for them I'll have to check...

A&E however, have a pretty good SD, but Bollywood is just not a good fit for them.

ETA I checked their personal best FD at Worlds 2012, and in fact, they got a 10 in Choreo and another in Performance from one judge.
