Hmmmmm the pairs event. I hate to say it, but this is probably my time to do dirty dishes before mens and ladies. I'll keep the skating on in the background, but I just haven't been really inspired by any pairs team this season.

I'm so excited for this event. It will mostly determine which pair going to the Olympics for the young/new Chinese pairs. Go Sui/Han, Go Peng/Zhang! If they both skate well Sui/Han should be on top.

I like V/T's SP, but not the LP. It's OK if they skate clean. I find that I just enjoy their elements, not the program.

Dear Finnstep,

Thank you for titling this thread 'Pairs Free Skating' WHICH IS THE CORRECT NAME and not 'Pairs Free Program' or 'Pairs Long Program' which are incorrect names.

He's basically skating the program alone. Selling it the best he could. She was a zombie out there. :eek:hwell:

Anastasia MARTIUSHEVA / Alexei ROGONOV (RUS)

Music: Les Feuilles Mortes (Autumn Leaves) performed by Andre Rieu
Milord by Marguerite Monnot

3T - landed, seemed solid
3Tw - okay, could be higher
2A+2A+SEQ - she singles both
3FTh - big stepout, into split, fall
CCoSp - unison solid until exit
ChSq
3LoTh - twofooted, stepout
Li - lasso
Li
FiDs
Li
PCoSp

Problems on both throws and the sbs double axels. Too badd they're so inconsistent. They seemed quite muted in their expression

Score: 48.43+48.97-1.00=96.40 (SB),145.37

I'm tired so I'm gonna be honest and perhaps slightly offensive, w/e. M/R desperately need to give up and move on. She is a hopeless case and will never land jumps, I don't care what pretty positions they can hit. He could maybe make some magic happen with a new partner in the unlikely event that he can find a good one at the age of 25 (unlikely but not impossible, mind you). She also looks like she hates life when she's out there which doesn't endear them to me, good line or not.

Siudi on the panel, wheeeeee!

Samson, I think that this is one of the better seasons for Pairs I can remember in recent years. Both Chinese teams are looking fantastic. V/T have great elements. L/S show a lot of character. C/S have very creative and interesting programs. This is a fantastic Pairs event!

As for Martiusheva/Rogonov, the less said the better. :p She looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but on the ice.

This young Russian pair has really nice matching lines and good looks. I like the boy's sunny personality. The girl needs more positive attitude. I don't blame her though considering what happened to her yesterday.

Les Mis is the new Carmen. I'm done with the music, but apparently the skating world IS NOT.

I totally agree. She has always been inconsistent and whilst in the past, they had interesting programs, this season I see no redeeming features. Choreography is bland and she skates like a zombie. Why bother?

When is she never a zombie? For me her facial expression ruin anything they have going not to mention her falls, etc.

Ok I think I know who Alexei reminds me of... Joubert!!!!!!!!

Poor thing... he did the best he could for both of them. His partner looked high as a kite...just saying.
