It will be an interesting battle between the two Russian couples to see who comes out on top. S/K were very impressive in Warsaw last week, while B/L were disappointing in Paris. Other than that I guess it is S/S event to lose, hopefully they will perform better than there last event.

M-T/M's score from SA (208+) was 7 points higher than S/S's score from CoC (201+). S/S are not guaranteed the title here; they're highly inconsistent, and the Canadians are very consistent

Boy, if that crowd is indicative of what the crowd for Sochi will be like, it's going to be challenging for the skaters. It's like a Yankees crowd during a NY/Boston Red Sox game. Ouch.

Is it just me or has Knierim gotten sloppy? It seems to me that he used to finish moves more completely, and now everything just sort of trails off. It's disappointing, because of all the US pairs, I thought they had the most polish. But that seems significantly reduced this year. Maybe it's a by-product of his injury?

He broke his ankle this summer and isn't sharp. What do you expect? He's just starting to round into shape. The injury put them behind everyone else. This team scored over 65 points in a summer competition so they have the skills. It's better to peak in January anyways especially in an Olympic year.

He didn't break his arms, did he? And I did question that it was a by-product of his injury. No need to be snippy please.
