Wow, how were those toes so poorly timed... Slight improvement afterwards but still not synchronized.

B/L are skating well, I really shouldn't like them as they're not nice skaters but I do. She turns sideways and I can't see her anymore though! Probably one of the reasons why their lifts and pairs elements in general are so good.

Vera BAZAROVA / Yuri LARIONOV (RUS)

Music: Polovetsian Dances (from "Prince Igor") by Alexander Borodin

3T - landed, but unison far off
2A+2A+SEQ - ditto
3FTh - solid
FiDs
FCCoSp
3Tw - good height
Li - nice positions
3LoTh
ChSq
Li
Li - shaky on entry
PCoSp

Much stronger than at TEB. The sbs jumps were not pretty (she hardly gets any lift), but done. Will probably stay ahead.

Score: 66.33+65.56 = 131.89 (PB), 201.61 (PB), 1st out of 7

Aliona SAVCHENKO / Robin SZOLKOWY (GER)

Music: The Nutcracker by Petr I. Tchaikovski

3FTh - big as usual
3T+3T+SEQ - he doubles both
BoDs
CCoSp
ChSq
3Tw
2A - she singles
RLi
Li
PCoSp
Li
3STh - slight twofooted

Some costly mistakes. They might no even win the FS, but their lead from the SP should keep them ahead

Score: 63.06+70.02 = 133.08 (SB), 206.33 (SB) and 1st overall

S/S has the best program, but it was not skated at their best today, best wishes for them going forward!

Just one comment about B/L PCS compared to M-T/M: the R.O.S. (Russian Overscoring System  ) is really working well :sarcasm:
S/S are wonderful, this program is so well-choreographed and well-performed, she really looks like a ballerina  I'm glad that they received an appropriate PCS, even if in Russia

So who's in the final?

Since I suck at anything math related, don't make me take an oath on it, but:

V/T 474,2 1st and 1st 30
S/S 407,54 1st and 1st 30
P/T 388,24 ´ 2nd and 1st 28
M-T/M 397,18 2nd and 3rd 24
D/R 381,51 3rd and 2nd 24
P/Z 369,37 3rd and 2nd 24

Thanks to Mao88, I got to enjoy another performance of S/S! I ADORE both their programs this year. In the FS, I esp. love the last two lifts -- interesting entrances, exits, and positions. I love the unity of the concept of the FS.

BTW my heart was in my mouth hearing that K M-T had to recover from a fall out of a lift -- glad to see it was more a slip on the touchdown rather than a fall from the air. Still, wtg moving on as though nothing had happened. Their lifts really come very late in the program == I wish they had at least one in the first part to balance out the choreo a bit.

the marks here show they would have beaten B/L had they had a decent SP
I think the fed stopped pushing for B/L and now gunning for S.K as they realized B/L SBS problems and Bazarova's tiny jumps

Yeah they would have beaten B/L because their FS score was so much higher than B/L's... oh but WAIT!
