I am not an oldies movie fan. Except for Hitchcock films, I won't stay home to watch a Hepburn / Tracy movie or any other black and white film. I'd rather watch paint dry.
However, I do have a few all time faves, movies I've seen many times and would probably watch again should they ever pop up on tv:
Hair
Annie Hall
Gone With the Wind (my oldies exception)
The Wizard of Oz (my second oldies exception)
Blazing Saddles
Funny story about Blazing Saddles... First of all, I have never in my life laughed harder than I laughed at that movie. I was, literally, falling out of my chair. Okay, well, I'd seen the movie probably twice already but I went with my husband when it made it to Israel. The movie was subtitled; and although most Israelis have terrific English, they read the subtitles. I must have been the only native English speaker in the crowded theater, because I laughed at the jokes immediately as they were said, while everyone else laughed a few seconds later, after they read the subtitles, which only made me laugh harder. This continued throughout the entire movie, with me laughing hysterically, out loud, followed by everyone else a few seconds later.
