Ladies:
1. Katelyn Osmond--hope she has fully recovered!
2. Amelie Lacoste--will her coaching changes pay off, or was it too late in her career? If so....
3. Gabrielle Daleman--may grab that second spot
4. Alaine Chartrand
5. Veronik Mallet
6. Julianne Seguin

Men:
1. Patrick Chan
2. Kevin Reynolds--is he back yet? Hope so!
3. Eladje Balde--or Ten, or Rogozine, or Nguyem!
4. Jeremy Ten

6. Nam Nguyem

Pairs:
1. Moore-Towers/Moscovitch--I think they have momentum going into nationals and could pull off a win. Should be a great competition!
2. Duhamel/Radford--hope they've smoothed out these programs from earlier in the season and skate with passion
3. Purich/Tran--excited for this team's future! Can they pull out a medal here?
4. Lawrence/Sweigers--worried that her injury may have dashed their Olympic hopes
5. Purdy/Marinaro--love their look but will they be able to do the big tricks to become a top team in the world? (Due to a lack in height difference)
6. Jones/Regan

Dance:
1. Virtue/Moir
2. Weaver/Poje
3. Gillies/Poirier--they appear to be favoured by Skate Canada although I prefer...

My thoughts:

Ladies

1. Osmond
2. Daleman - senior rules help her as the loop ( the required one in juniors ) is her weakest triple.
3. Lacoste - made huge strides technically and mentally under Krall. Will be 2nd if she shows control of the toe picking jumps ( her biggest weakness ). Her toe picking jumps have improved this year.

4. Mallet
5. Chartrand
6. Seguin - seems destined to focus on pairs

Dance

1. Tessa Virtue / Scott Moir
2. Kaitlyn Weaver / Andrew Poje
3. Alexandra Paul / Mitchell Islam - I think they've toughened up mentally
4. Piper Gilles / Paul Poirier

5. Orford/Williams
6. Ralph/Hill

I expect Madeline Edwards / Zhao Kai Pang to beat one of Orford/Williams or Ralph/Hill in the FD but they will be too far behind with their SD which they have never competed.

Men:

1. Chan
2. Reynolds
3. Balde - I think training with Chan has done him wonders
4. Rogozine
5. Ten - loosing momentum at sectionals and challenge

6. Firus
7. Nam
8. Sadovsky

Pairs

1. MT/M
2. D/R
3. Lawrence/Sweigers
4. Purich/Tran
5. Jones/Regan
6. Purdy/Marino -would not be surprised if they break up the lifts are scary now

Oh, by the bye, CaroLiza_fan - are you planning on setting up something for Euros? It's coming close...

Oh, by the bye, CaroLiza_fan - are you planning on setting up something for Euros? It's coming close...

Sorry for the late reply LRK - I haven't been in this thread since I posted the entry lists!

You've probably found it by now, but I've set up the threads for the ISU Championships Predictions Game yesterday in the 2013-14 ISU Figure Skating Events forum

The rules thread is here, and there are some significant changes to the rules for Olympics and Worlds.

But, it is the same rules as normal for Euros, and you can find it's predictions thread here.

I'm off to work out my predictions for Canadians now - I had been planning on doing it tomorrow morning, but I've now found out that I'm going out for the day!

Thank goodness it is only the Top 5 that score towards the Game – for Ladies, Men’s and Dance, the first 7 I have picked are the only ones I have heard tell of! And in Pairs, it is even worse – it is only the first 6.

There must have been a lot of retirements over the past few years that I never heard about! ;)

Just a word of warning. As there are so many that I am not familiar with, a lot of my predictions were based on PB’s. And because a lot of them do not have ISU Bios, I also looked at the results of Canadian Championships for the past few years. And I made a surprising discovery – for practically every skater that has a ISU Bio, the listed PB is not up to date. Nearly all of them had a higher score in last year’s Canadian Championships than the score that is listed on their ISU Bio as their PB.

So, that was very interesting to find out.

I didn’t take any risks in the Ladies or Pairs categories.

In the Men’s category, I have taken a big risk. Let’s be blunt, any of the guys I have put as my first 7 could get onto the podium.

Although he was beat at the GP Final, I can’t see Chan getting beat at Nationals.

And although he has been prone to meltdowns in the past, I don't think Kevin Reynolds would have one at Nationals. That said, the pressure of competing for an Olympic slot might get to him…

If all goes as expected, that should be 1st and 2nd sorted. So, that just leaves the final podium slot.

Originally, I did the predictable and went with the Russian (hey, I always seem to go with the Russians!). After all, Rogozine was 3rd last year, and has the 3rd highest PB of all the men competing.

But, I really want Jeremy Ten to get on the podium. Jeremy is a really nice guy, and showed at the Nebelhorn just what he is capable of. Plus, I felt a twinge of patriotism. You see, one of his coaches, Neil Wilson, is from my part of the world (In fact, I will be in Neil’s home town today!)

So, I put Ten in 3rd and Rogozine in 4th. It's a risk and if it goes the other way, it will almost certainly lose me the lead I have had in the Men's category since the start of this Predictions Game. But, you gotta take a chance some time.

You may be surprised that I put Balde in 5th place, as I have made no secret that absolutely love his style of exhibition routines. But, at the moment, I think he is a better exhibition skater than he is a competition skater.

Onto Dance, and although I like Kharis Ralph and Asher Hill, I have taken a chance and put Madeline Edwards and Zhao Kai Pang as my 6th choice. Yes, I know they have only just moved up from Juniors. But did you see the score they got when they won Junior Nationals last year?! 145.25!!! That would have put them in 5th in Senior Nationals – nearly 4.5 points ahead of Ralph/Hill!

So, when you take that into consideration, it is not too big a risk.

THIS IS YOUR SEVEN-AND-A-HALF HOUR WARNING.

You have just 7 hours and 30 minutes left to get your predictions in, i.e. until 11:10 EST (16:10 GMT)

I'm heading out for the day shortly, so this will probably be your only warning.

Apologies that this warning includes a half-hour - I meant to do an eight hour warning at 8:10 GMT, but was at my breakfast and forgot!
