For most of the Nationals Game rounds, and for Four Continents, a lot of my predictions were based on combination of looking at PB’s, and past results in those Championships. There were just too many skaters that I was not familiar with!

But, for the Olympics, I am going to do something dangerous. I am not going to look at past results or PB’s or anything. I am going to go with a combination of my heart and gut instinct.

In other words, I am not going to score well!!!

Like I did for Four Continents, I am doing a Top 15 in each category. There are just so many that could make the Top 10, and not enough positions for them all!

Haha! Brave man! Good for you! :-D

I am doing something similar... or at least, something equally crazy... and basing my choices on such nebulous things as who I think are the better and more worthy skaters... which skaters/programs might appeal more to the masses... who I think is psyched, and who is psyched out... who I think is going to peak, and who has left it too late or peaked too early... one or two random-chance "OMG who'd have believed it?" surprise events... etc etc.

This gives a very different result, than basing my predictions on recent history... PB's... statistics... or who I think the judges will favour (or in two or three cases, just close their eyes and hit the "throw points like confetti" button :-D)... etc etc.

In doing so, I expect to score VASTLY MORE than everybody else!
Or VASTLY LESS than everybody else! :-D

I'm waiting until after the team event to post my predictions though - because I think things may look a bit different after that. In particular, I'm worried that Plushenko won't make it past the team event without injuring himself...

In girls skating I just loved 3 skaters Julia, Carolina and Kaetlin, in no particular order. I think Kaetlin paid a price for being the first to skate. Julia did her usual perfect program. Carolina was so beautiful, words are too poor.... Mao was mesmerizing as always but her jumps were not so good. The rest of the girls were OK but not so interesting...at least for me. In pairs I think the Russians were deeply over scored.
