Wow. That last group is odd. Do they do this at random or are there protocols. Please excuse my ignorance

Do you think Caolina can keep pace or overtake the Russians if all three skate clean? Julia by my initial reaction has the worst spot of them all in terms of how the judges may score. Then again I don't know if she gets fazed by anything so it may not matter. Can't wait for this FS!

Can anyone give an approximate start time for the final group 4? (I'm in US Eastern Time, but if you could give the time zone you're using, that would be dandy :))

Much appreciated.

It's top 6 in random order.
That's a good spot for adelina

If Adelina does a CLEAN program like she did at TEB then this should be hers, based on the PCS she got in the SP (or unless Kostner skates lights out and the chance of that is...). I really don't think she needs to risk even TRYING the 3Lz-3L as her first combo like she did at Russian Nationals. A clean 3Lz-2T like she did at TEB should be sufficient but I doubt she wants to go the safe and smart route....

I'll be holding my breath tomorrow!

I am sure she will do her 3Flz-3lo > for sure in the LP

Whatever, I'd rather see her go for it than shy back and play it safe, personally. I'm glad she is challenging herself... she is certainly aware that she needs every point she can get in Sochi so she should be going for it and training it. She must be hitting enough in practice to continue sticking with it... If she hits it the BV is 3.8 higher than a 2T (3.57 with <) which is worth more than a double axel, so it's worth it. I get that negative GOE can render it lower than a 3Z-2T but the risk isn't that much greater unless she falls (which doesn't usually happen for her on that combo).

Good luck to every girls! :) Will start in about one hour and half, which is 1:50 midnight in my time. Hope these wonderful Euro girls let me feel it would worth watching it at the expense of my sleep tonight!

btw, I would not mind either Mae or Valentina with SOHL sneaking onto the podium, if one of the top 3 falters in the Free. ;)
Gooo Mae and Valentina! :yay:, and prove yourselves that you DO belong there!

Where are Simancikova and Reitmayerova?

Simancikova has had a terrible season so far, scoring much lower than Rajicova at international competitions and lost Nationals to her as well (both Rajicova and Simancikova bombed at Nationals).

Reitmayerova and Reitmayer are M.I.A. They haven't competed in a while and it looks like they retired.
