hello everyone :), I'm so sad that Aliona and Robin had to withdrawn, but better now and get healthy than during Olys I think...In that case it looks like we'll have probably a russian podium here in Budapest, but I have my fingers crossed for Stefania and Ondrej - their FS this season is amazing and they skate it to one of my fav soundtracks so I'm not so objective here, but wish great skate to all of the pairs !

PS. thank you all for stream links!

agreed theyre FS and the music is amazing! Love the dracula soundtrack :) love watching without commentary on icenetwork btw, can actually hear the skaters in kiss and cry

K/K were cute together - made me smile - you just have to blink for a second for the sbs jumps and all is fine ;)
René Lohse joined Daniel Weiss for the commentary, the 2004 Ice Dance World Bronze Medalist with Kati Lohse.
Of course, Weiss (mis)uses him to vent about his frustration of skaters using too "old" music ("old ham"; alter Schinken), like Kovtun using Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto N°1 with 18. Poor Daniel is really bothered by this!

a couple from Estonia looks quite strong in the warm-up - nice 3-2-2 and some great throws, I hope they'll repeat this during their program

For me, the Burlesque music should be kept to Ladies Singles skating. It just doesn't work for Pairs Skating.

That music is about strippers. And you cannot get that across properly when a man and a woman are skating together.

And it doesn't help when the couple using it are so cute! Or that they are dressed like it was a normal Pairs routine.

Not exactly interpreting the music, is it?

At least when Adelina and Akiko used that music, they tried to get into character, and dressed as near as the rules allowed to how a stripper would.

Not that I would encourage skaters to dress like strippers, of course!!!

But, you know what I mean! ;)

I know I said this when this pair were doing their FS at the Nebelhorn, but I'll say it again now.

I absolutely love the "Conquest Of Paradise" music, and wish it would be used more often!!! In fact, Vangelis music in general should be used more often!!!

As for the skating, I thought it was very good! But they looked very disappointed with only getting 3rd overall.

Cheer up - it's a SB score, after all!!! ;)

All in all, this is another couple we will have to keep an eye on for the future.

It's a shame they won't go to Olympics this time, but they're young enough to get other chances! And I would say we'll see lots of them at Euros and Worlds between now and the next Olympics ;)

Yay! Maylin and Daniel! :)
Such a loveable pair, glad they got through mostly clean.
Germany will still lose its 3rd spot, which of course sucks for 1 pair out of them, Vartmann/Van Cleave and Prölss/Blommaert for next year...

Have Wende/Wende and Vartmann/Cleave both stated, that they will continue?
