Academic decathlon

My school's A team placed 3rd overall out of 14 schools, and our B team (I'm on the B team) placed 2nd overall. I personally won 4 medals: a silver in language and literature, and bronzes in art, music and essay. :D We wanted to win, but we'll probably go to State as a wild card choice.

One of our teammembers got perfect scores on some of the tests and went away with $3k in scholarship money (he'll need a lot more; he's goin' to Stanford!).

We all worked VERY hard, and wanted to win, and the coach is disappointed... but I think we did pretty well considering how Simi Valley HS totally kicked everyone's BUTT. It was pretty much between Simi and our school medals wise.

Hi Lanie,

Good job to you and your academic teammates! I remember how much fun (and work) those things were in high school and how exciting to do well and be rewarded. I hope you get to go as a wild card team and kick some serious butt.
