A friend of mine from Brazil has the opportunity to go to Alaska on business. He wants to know if downhill skiing is a sport that people living in Alaska enjoy, and if so, what are some resort names and what is the length of the season?

If anyone (Tonichelle are you there??) could point us to any more specifics, I woudl be grateful.

Thanks

where in Alaska is he going to be?

In the Anchorage area there's two downhill skiing areas

"Hilltop" and "Alyeska"

so yes there's downhill skiing AND snowboarding

and the season depends on the winter season(ie how much snow we actually get LOL) and normally it closes in mid april...
