The most beautiful skaters (men and women)

I have no doubt that this thread has been done before, but I haven't seen it, so I'll bring it up again.

Which skaters do you think are the most beautiful? I mean beautiful in a purely physical sense (we can discuss spiritual beauty another time :laugh:

). Also, I don't want to limit the discussion to just the current skaters, so you can include skaters from any generation the way they looked at any particular time. So for example, you can think a particular skater looks horrible now, but if you think he or she looked amazing twenty years ago, you can include that skater as well.

Anyways, here are my rankings:

MEN
1. Scott Davis (I don't know, I've always found him hot, especially his eyes)
2. John Zimmerman (love the hair)
3. Michael Weiss (like the muscles, just not the things he says)
4. Ilia Kulik (unbearably cute)
5. Sergei Federov (dearly missed)

WOMEN
1. Katarina Witt (she really could've melted the ice during "Carmen")
2. Michelle Kwan (there's something very classic about her; she looks like a Hong Kong film star from the 60's or so)
3. Nicole Bobek (the Britney Spears of skating?)
4. Ekaterina Gordeeva (the Audrey Hepburn of skating)
5. TIE Sasha Cohen (sultry ambition)
& Lu Chen (the best smile ever in all of skating)

What do you guys think?

I think Gwendal Peizerat and Oleg Ovsyannikov are two of the most attractive male skaters! :love:

It's not just about the looks, but also the way they carry themselves. And being dancers certainly doesn't hurt their presence :eek:

The most beautiful male skater of all time, in my opinion, was Sergei Grinkov.

That man was incredible looking, and seemed so well liked, so kind and decent. But, others on my 'list' would be....

I agree with berthes ghost. I first saw Peter Oppegard's picture or on TV with Angelar N. he was a coach already. I noticed how handsome he was. But talking about prettiest skater(s), I feel we should consider more on the eligible side. For lady skaters, I feel Sasha Cohen has the prettiest face and extension. But Michelle Kwan has everything in right place, and you can not find any noticable weakness. For man skater, I think Johnny Weir and Plushenko are the most handsome competitors. :laugh:

Men

To me, the most attractive man in skating, hands down, was Sergei Grinkov.

Alexei Urmanov, John Zimmerman, Brian Joubert, Steven Cousins, Hongbo Zhao, Sergei Ponomarenko, Patrice Lauzon, and Evgeny Platov are all good-looking guys as well. And has anyone mentioned Denis Petrov yet? I always thought he was handsome.

Alexei Yagudin, Artur Dmitriev, and Ryan Bradley are all hot (although not classically handsome).

Ladies

Among eligibles, I think Michelle Kwan, Angela Nikodinov, Jenny Kirk, and Marie-France Dubreuil are the most beautiful. Elena Sokolova would also be lovely with a different hairstyle.

Among current professionals, I'd vote for Katarina Witt, Katia Gordeeva, and Kristi Yamaguchi.

Among past skaters, I think Peggy Fleming, Carol Heiss, Tanja Szewchenko, Josee Chouinard, and Isabelle Duchesnay were all very beautiful. Jill Trenary Dean, Isabelle Brasseur, Rosalynn Sumners, Natalia Mishkutenok, and Lu Chen are all very attractive as well. And, this may sound strange, but I think Tamara Moskvina is very good-looking for her age!

Couples

Gordeeva/Grinkov, Dubreuil/Lauzon, Shen/Zhao, and Mishkutenok/Dmitriev are/were gorgeus together. Novarikova/Kovotny were also a very good-looking pair.
