Davis and White had a similarly early draw for Worlds' SD last season, and it didn't hurt their chances at all.

Perfect draw for Weaver & Poje to have a chance at the bronze medal! Skating last in the OD will help them tremendously. Meanwhile the 2 Russians teams get awful draws, not good for them but good news for W&P.

I think the top 2 groups draw together so no, V/M's draw is not baffling once you know that. It could have as easily been D/W in the second to last group. In men, Chan AND Hanyu were both in the second to last group in the SP for this reason. I am a little confused that the Shibs evidently are ranked behind Coombs and Buckland and the Germans, but such is life.

I am of the opinion that this is indeed a bad draw for V/M. I take the point that they tend to do better skating before D/W but it would have been INFINITELY better if they were still in the final group. This is, IMO them skating too early period. The judges are going to unconsciously save some room for D/W. This would probably have happened to whichever team skated first but the effect will be magnified now.

Also obviously a bad draw for B/S but at least they are last in the second to last group. We will see.

D/W have lucked out.

Guys, important! If this is the Hunger Games part 2... what will Effie Trinket be wearing?!! Since Johnny is officially Effie.

I'm guessing blue or something on the cooler end of the spectrum. Green. Purple.

Anyone know where to find the estimated times each team will be skating? I know they were listed for other events, but I don't know where they were found.

After the awful men's event, I can't wait for the dance event

that being said I'm still terrified we'll see something like the ODs in 2006... hope I'm wrong.

I can't wait for it either. It's also the one I'm most nervous for. I hope it's nothing like the 2006 ODs. No falls. No injuries.

I love the Sochie2014 results pages. They're awesome. I love the speed events (luge, skeleton, speed skating). You can "watch" as the competitors go!

Not sure if you were responding to my post above??

Rach wanted the schedule with times for individual entries. AFAIK, Sochi2014.com does not have the detailed time schedules -- only the ISU page does.

Totally agree that the Sochi2014 event pages have been great for real-time results.

I dunno, people said Chan was a lock for gold coming into these games... don't declare the winners just yet.

um...but Chan had mistakes and didn't get the gold while during the team event Davis and White skated with an obvious error in twizzles and their skate was very 'tense' comparing to their previous outings and they settled a new WR...So it's clear for me (and D/W ubers - this is only a fact statement, not hate so pls...) that probably nothing could take off from them that gold.

But it's sad that when they have mistakes, they haven't any influence for PCS for Davis and White while when the others made some, the PCS is lowballed automaticly...of course with exception for Russians
