Finns and Russians

So Finland couldn't hold the 1940 Olympics cause of the start of WWII...instead, the Russian Army invaded Finland in the "Winter War" and the "Continuation War", ....where the biathalon took on a whole new meaning....
I heard today that Finland knocked the Russian Hockey team out of the Olympic race for gold....
Oh the Irony.... or is it revenge???
Congrats Finland...you rock!

I never understand the whole "these people sucked in this war a bajillion years ago, so let's cheer against their teams now" mentality. Maybe it's my "youth", but a hockey team in 2014 had nothing to do with WWII or even the Cold War.
