CSG, we have been told non-stop by Tarasova for two seasons straight that this guy is the superdooper number one Russian who will win all the things and be the next superstar. Or have you forgotten the political lunacy that saw Kovtun sent to Worlds last season when he did not deserve it, with nothing more than a JGPF title to his name?

When Gachinski was 17, he went to Worlds and medalled with two fine performances, under pressure since Russia only had one spot and he was expected to get them back.

When Kovtun was 17, he went to Worlds and finished 17th with a lower TSS than the two skaters who had finished 17th and 18th the year before, under pressure since Russia only had one spot and he was expected to get them back.

Any pressure on Kovtun is of his OWN making. If you want to blame anyone in this situation, how about blaming Tarasova?

It's true! Tarasova has been relentless saying he could be world and Olympic champion and then he can't even beat voronov and menshov at euros and then she kind of got on the plushenko for sochi bandwagon as her skater can't deal with any expectation she has set or pressure she has set up at a big event!

bla-bla-bla---he can do anything you will criticize him. :) Plus I said not once he can sleep because you don't like him. You are really ridiculous , but I noticed I'm not the only one who thinks you are not a logical poster. Bye-bye CSG with Scott Hamilton's words http://vimeo.com/86701497

He imagines a plushenko who is still bitter and angry at yaguidn for beating him in slc even though he invites yagudin to shows and is angry and bitter toward kovtun because he beat him. Therefore he has devoted his life to being angry and bitter!

So, anyone still think Yana was right? Even Plushenko at his best (his PB being 261 points) wouldn't have even come close to medalling. :rolleye:

And Kovtun, while not clean in either performance, did pretty well ending up a solid 4th. Yana and Plushenko can eat their words, although I bet Yana says something stupid again like criticizing Kovtun for failing to medal (against scores of 282.59, 282.25, and 275.93).

Also Plushenko isn't bitter and angry about losing to Yagudin in SLC. He's bitter and angry about Vancouver. :sarcasm: He was also pissy about Kovtun beating him at Nationals, which led to a slew of anti-Kovtun bashing when he realised his spot in Sochi was in jeopardy. And that somehow translated into post-Sochi bitchiness when people were angry at him for quitting, so he tried to re-direct it saying Kovtun wouldn't have placed higher than 6th. He even got his wife in on the mudslinging saying Kovtun must medal, not even realising that 2 medal spots were locked by Hanyu/Fernandez and a number of guys (Machida in this case) could also light it up and keep Kovtun (and Plushenko, had he competed) off the podium.

You know, I hoped that when Plushenko retired we wouldn't have to read blind adoration ad nauseum anymore. Must remind myself not to click on these threads any more.

Oh dear? With what should Yana have right? I don't understand your question.... She said Kovtun should be third, so she predicted better, so?
BUt if you put it like this, Plushenko had it right isnt' it, if you add Chan, Ten and the other who were at olympics. Plushenko has his own favorite skaters, he liked for a long time Yuzuru, for examplehe. He had not a problem to be beaten by him at Sochi. At the end of the day, 4th place for Kovtun is a great thing for him, but not for the history of FS or something special to hold now against Plushenko with "see you, see you, i told you, blahblahblah". Kovtun skate was ok, but nothing special, was you so impressed with it?

The scores increased over the years, so don't compare Plushenko's score in the high day with those of now. It is pointless.

Your hate makes you so blind to think that Plushenko puts his wife to say something. She is the kind who is very emotional and say loads of things (haven't we see this kind anywhere else? Oh right, by Tarasova).Do not look to find something to hate everywhere in every skater you don't like. There is a karma, you know....

Have you compete against Plushenko? Did he eat your cat? He and Lysachek put aside thrie Vancouver controverse, might be nice if you will put your nastiness aside also. In FS is place for loads of kind of skaters, you have plenty to enjoy. There is not need to search with a candle on every tid-bid of negativity against Plushenko and take every word out of context to sound bad.

Make your fan thread about Kovtun and enjoy his 4th place. Your blind hate makes you not very credible on this forum.

Yeah... Digging up an old thread to gloat about a decent-ish result is kind of pathetic. Maybe would've been useful bad he actually medaled since that's the headline here.

I don't like Kovtun's skating at the moment, But i give this guy props,
He has taken so much crap these past 15 months or so, From his own federation,
From fellow skaters and coaches and from skating fans, Me included, Who gave him the stink eye throughout,
When all he was doing is his best, Handling a very difficult technical layout.

Although i would've had Abbott with better PCS than him in the SP and 4th overall, That is not the case, And Kovtun
just finished 4th at worlds behind three extraordinary skaters giving it their all,
Which he cannot hope to compete with at the moment.

Russia has a couple of interesting juniors coming up, I hope they won't **** up the promise that Kuvton has showed this season
And i hope Tarasova startes making better choices and embraces that she'll have to do some learning herself,
If she helped bring the Artist out of Yagudin 15 years ago she has the chance of doing it for Kovtun too,
And it's not like he's getting terrible scores in PCS at the moment anyways.

He was fourth.

I guess he's got some 'splainin' to do......

Mrs Plushy wants answers, and she wants them now!

The Russian federation should defend their skaters from this crap, especially if it's from the inside,

they can ball up all of the energy they spend on using them for whatever, And put into

Giving Plush a call telling him to let his wife know it's time to cut the horse manure.

She thought third and he got fourth so everything she said was possible and she was right so it doesn't matter because she was close! Bashing plushenko and bringing up his scores is irrelevent! The constant bashing of plushenko and his wife for opinions is ridiculous.

In each century are you living? Is a woman not aloud to have her opinion, havs to discuss it with her husband? And why on earth should the federation call?

The absurdity of this thread never stop to astonish me...

Plushy grew up with the old system and old rules, so bringing up his score under the COP to bash him is UNFAIR. People can say whatever they thing about him, they can't change the fact that he is a legend and one of the best ever. Anyways, what his wife said has anything tho do with him? She is not a skater, not even a specialist.

This worlds has become one of the best worlds ever since the start of COP, we have lived through the dark ages when the champion fall twice, stepped out...still got the 1st place. Today none of the top 3 fell, and they have a mighty race for the gold. Kovtun is 4th in this amazing race, let admit it, that place is a medal itself.

No need to get all riled up,

I was being "imaginative"

Besides, This is Russia we're talking about,

Or do you want to blame me for their "Old fashioned" behaviour too?

Just being realistic,

I obviously don't assume i control the women in my life

Thank you

Good night

Chill!

Besides, Why should i assume they even have her number? :p

This lady is a self made successful businesswoman and probably makes more money than her husband. Hardly old fashioned.
