That C/S skates was WILD, all over the place. Something seemed off, are they having some personal problems?

Yes going back to the placings i realised they're cool ;)

Well, Both leaders are virtually tied and both did very well,

Still can't get over to the reaction from J\C to their fall,
That reaction shows there's a history with that element
At Bompard it was so easy for him that he used his free hand to uplift the crowd
At Olympics i think he kinda fell at the end of it, Right ?
Maybe there's a story behind that lift from their practices

Is Simon ill or something? That's three triples he's doubled in the short/long. I don't think they were all pops either. What a shame.

Probably will end up 11th. That's too bad.

(I just got here and saw the end of the Italians. Can't wait to see that in full later along with whatever the drama was in the French team's performance.)

I just think it's been a long season. They peaked at the Olympics. It truly is difficult to peak again.

You know the state of US pairs skating is bad when the national championships don't have reliable SBS jumps or a second throw triple...

Castelli/Shnapir's long programs are generally all like this. They were slightly better at the Olympics, but in general, their LPs are riddled with mistakes. That 4S throw is not at all reliable for them, but they don't have another throw triple to go to as a backup plan. Unfortunate.

Group three are on the ice warming up.

Peng and Zhang's outfits really stand out.

We don't really get that Antipova and Maisuradze are skating to Pink Floyd. These outfits scream Italian opera.

In any case they are capable for a 120+ FS despite those little errors. They have something to build on for next season. Earlier in the season everyone was so sure they wouldn't even be close to making the Olympic team. Instead they got a second national title and a top 10 finish at the Olympics.

Antipova and Maisuradze of Russia are next to go
They are skating to Money and Great Gig in the Sky
Expressive opening poses
Huge quad twist to open
3sal 2toe sbs
pair combination spin - very Mishkutenok and Dmitriev inspired
Moving into the back outside death spiral
choreographic sequence is next - nice spiral variations from this team
throw triple flip. maybe a touch down from Julia
Both stumble on the sbs triple toe loop
Group 5 axel lasso lift carries a lot of speed and distance
Julia touches down with her free foot on the 3loop throw
good unison on the sbs combo spin
Group 4 lift carries a lot of speed and distance - complex split exit
outstanding group5 reverser lasso lift
Audience really enjoyed this performance.

I feel like despite the mistakes
And despite the big brother small sister feel
And despite their suit and dress which are hilarious for a 70's rock program
(and maybe also because of it)

I'm kinda starting to fall in love with the Antilopas
They're so special :) :)

Wow. The US won't have a team in the top 10 and Russia will probably have all their teams finish in the top 8.

Antipova looks really shy and timid but manages fine. They don't have major weakness like Vera & Yuri. They may become Russian #3 soon.

Agreed! They have a special quality, and anyone who skates with flair and sensitivity to Pink Floyd is high on my list.

But what has happened to Artur Dimitriev?? Oh my god he has totally lost his looks- and he was a very dashing fellow in his day. He must have gained 50-75 lbs. Sad! Does anyone know if he has been ill or how long he has looked like this?
