Tell me exactly how these girls weight, then. In my experience taller girls are often heavier.

take a look at their current body type and buillt
Elena gained a bit of weight this season though I wouldn't say she was weight problems like Tuktamysheva or Flatt

maybe she was stressed this season, but she needs to address this
because Ruslan is a weaker lifter, shorter and body built is thin
could be a problem with their lifts, Ruslan needs to gain muscles like Nikita, maybe add also a more mature look to fit with Elena's bombshell look

that's an old photo in 2012

What picture is from 2012? I thought at 2012 Sinitsina/Zhiganshin were juniors. What they are doing with Bobrova/Soloviev and Ilinykh/Katsalapov then? Sinitsina's hair style is from Norma FD too. Both pictures are from this year, not 2012.

Anyway I don't think 1 cm more height difference would be enough for Victoria's big and tall body, skyfly. Maybe she should skate with Soloviev. This -maybe- can be enough for her big and tall body.

This thread has certainly wandered over the past month.

Who knew it would end up discussing which Russian man has the best physique and which Russian woman is the heaviest? :frown:

Elena Ilinykh is much heavier than Victoria now who is thinner

Both pictures are from Russian Nationals in December 2013, so in this season.
On the first picture Lena stands sideways why both Katya and Victoria are en face. Plus Lena's black dress and some sizes bigger than she really has, so you have absolutely no idea what is her body and what is clothes. Victoria has pink bolero which encircle her body. This picture is not suitable for some comparison.

No one judges you, don't worry. =))))))))))

Personally I believe that Victoria is heavier, because she is taller. Lena looks so thin I don't think she needs to go on a diet. I bet Nikita is be the one with more problem because his new partner is taller and heavier than his ex.

Answer 1: Valentin Piseev - he was born in 1941, he is probably the oldest man in Russian skating on top position, still having power to change skaters lifes and make them cry.

Answer 2: Tarasova.

taller doesnt mean heavier :rolleye:
you have to look at body mass and proportions

Sinitsina is definitely thinner than Elena

Is it just me or Victoria seems to be heavier than Lena? She is taller, even though she is not fat I think Lena is slender. I guess Nikita will have harder time lifting Victoria.

...and they said Ilinykh is lazy in practices that is why she gained weight.

Both girls are thin and good looking, but partners who lift them, coaches, Federation will never have enought. This is world of figure skating – thin girls are never thin enought. Thanks Tessa, Faiella and some others that they kicked their coaches, Federation butts proving that great dancers can be simply great without having 45 kilogrammes…and their partners were able to lift them – in case of Tessa & Scott – lifts were perfect and very difficult.

To Sky_fly20: Lena gained some kilogrammes this season, because she is 19 years old girl and this is a part of maturing of her body. This is not a prove of lazy work ethic. If she will train properly, she will form her body and muscles and it will be optically looking like she is more thin than she was looking this season.

To Meoima: Both girls have different body building, but I would personally say that Lena is more thin looking at her body structure – seizure of bones, width of her shoulders…while Victoria is more thin in body shape (better trained).

We don’t know their weights, but I think they are equal right now after Lena lost same weight.

As to body building – Victoria is one of those with long beautiful legs, but also with more wide shoulders and back – mainly last two things are giving an optical idea of being more heavily build than Lena. Her legs are more thin (but longer also), her backside is smaller in comparison with Lena. The same body building like Victoria has Krylova, Domnina, Navka, Bobrova, Monko. For all those girls/woman – their body is proportional.

Lena has another body building. Her shoulders are thin, her back is thin – simply whole upper body is thin. But her lower body is normal or less thin starting with backside and thighs plus she has no long legs, so optically not thin thighs + not long legs support the idea of not having thin enought legs. Jump over all magazines pictures which are far from reality, her body structure is well seen in Vogue behind the scenes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNN9vW2_2uQ , but remember that skates add about 10 centimetres and help to make body taller and more slim, in swimming suit her legs would be shorter and optically less thin. This body type has also Albena Denkova, Elina Kettunen, Suzanne Poykio. This body building is not proportional.

So both Lena and Victoria being at one picture, Lena would look more thin looking at upper body and shoulders, but having both girls in swimsuit – Victoria would probably be thinner overall.
Nice example is picture of Navka and Berezhnaya together - I was very surprised to see those thin women together, Navka thanks to her heights, wide shoulders looked twice in size than Berezhanya, who has very thin body structure….but both women are thin in reality, they just have different body building.

As to lifts – Nikita will have equal or more easy work with Victoria in lifts. Victoria was helping Ruslan in lifts to get up and change position, while Lena was mainly waiting what will Nikita do with her. If Victoria helps in lifts like she did with Ruslan, Nikita would need less power than with Lena to get Victoria into a certain position. The only problem for Viki & Nikita in lifts may be a fact that Victoria has long legs and arms and is some centimetres taller than Lena – so Nikita will have to find balance with different body in his arms.
Lena has no lift habbits. Ruslan was able to lift Victoria, so he will be able to lift Lena as well. Lena’s attitude in lifts could be a problem, but it is on coaches to work with specialists to learn Lena how to behave in lifts. Ruslan’s advantage will be a fact that Lena is shorter having shorter legs and arms than Viki, so it will take shorter time to get her into a certain position.

…Mutko says similar things like in previous article, that skaters must get an opportunity to decide about their future themselves. That they have his support (support from Ministry of Sport), but on their first part of career they will have to find a financial support in regions. He says that both Russian Federation and fans may like or not like the situation with new couples – but they all should be mild and let couples to figure out. He says that exceptional support is given to top sportsmen who have chance to win medals. New couples have to get into “short list“ and maybe it needs time. He told that everybody has its opinion and Russian Federation – Ispolkom told their opinion. He says that he knows the situation from inside. He also adds that it is not possible to scream everywhere that Russia is loosing a possibility on Olympic Gold Medal in 2018. He appreciates choice of sportsmen and he will do anything to support them.

Very nice words from Mutko, he looks to be more fair and reasonable than Russian Federation. Maybe he should call Nikita and ask him for final resume and then allowed a new couple of I&Z to be born oficially.

I started to think this whole charade might be orchestrated by Russian Fed. Lena and Nikita hate each other guts. Both of them wanted out but been forced to stick together. People have seen it for a long time. They reached the end of the rope and split. What is the better way to control the damage than create the controversial. Now they get free advertising to create the recognition for both new couples. Skating community tends to love drama in the first place. Who knows, they might drag it for a whole year and ... BAM....The gold and silver medals for Russian Ice dance teams.

Maybe we should relax a bit, and wait to see how these two couples works out, before going into another boring conspiracy theory. :rolleye:

You know what I'm sorry for my part in the craziness. But at the end of the day, the partnership ended. I think Victoria and Elena are gorgeous girls.

I think that if Nikita and Victoria both decided for whatever reason they didn't want to work with their partners anymore. For whatever reason that's their choice. It doesn't make them horrible people. People leave jobs all the time.

Of course how the whole thing came out was unfortunate but I blame the gossips who leaked it out. Of course the best thing to do would be to let the season end then change rather than saying something mid season!

If people were impersonating Nikita- he's got every reason to be ticked. Lets hope all the skaters do well and wish them the best.
