    Wrong edges get penalized

That was not something I had read!who will be hurt most?

Now edge calls reduce base value like urs and dgs

Wrong edge will get 30% deduction, >> will get 70% deduction. Same with UR.
Jump under 1,5 rotation will get 0 point.

But the tech panel can always mark "!" For their favorite and "e" or even >> for their unfavourite.

They amended the rules so that jumps under 1.5 revolutions count again.

What is lame is you can fall on a 3lz and score more than a flutzed jump because of negative GOE and reduced base value.

They brought back the "!"? Thought that was abolished. So they don't want to be too harsh!

Is this a severe increase in penalizing?
What would happen if their was an e or even >> last season?
To me it was quiet random last season, I saw skates where everybody, including experts, called it a flutz and the skater's GOE was as high as if the jump had been a perfect Lutz, while in other competitions I found the penalizing a bit strict...

Thank you, does that mean the 1lo in a combo 3L 1Lo 3S is still counted?

A skater Could get an e but judges could give goe from -3 to -1 or even 0 to +3 maybe. This reduced values on flutzing could be as bad for skaters as uring and dging.

No protocol has a ! In jr ladies so maybe it wasn't used at courcheval

An unclear edge or "minor flutz" does not and did not require negative GOE.

    (!) = not required -GOE
    (e) = required -GOE and reduced BV

    Too harsh? I think yes.

Now i see ! With marina popov France which I skipped before. This could be so bad for some. All major flutzers could never reach their peak again!

I really wonder why ISU is so obsessed with rotations, or now edges. The primary challenge in skating, as I see it, is to keep your balance and stay on your feet while performing increasingly difficult elements. Why failures on that part are sometimes taken less severe than UR's and flutzes I still do not understand.

Good news for Anna Pogo then. She has that 3-1-3 combo. Still wonder about that "!" And "e" or even ">>". Too much power in the hand of the tech panel.

Agree. I don't get it at all. As if a program with all the "e" on jumps look more disruptive than programs with falls.

Evgenia got hit yesterday by a very questionable call. In an event like this where she is so much better than everyone it doesn't matter. Come JGPF and JWC it is going to be an issue.

I'm glad there will be harsher penalties for incorrect edges- however, this rule change was near the very bottom of the list of things I wanted to be changed. What about falls? Those really need to have stricter repercussions.

They should have -2 deduction for one fall. But well... Maybe they are still trying to encourage skaters to try difficult jumps. should have made the deduction in the PCS as well.
