The only major problems with Dima really are the 3A (which has been getting better) and the mental state (which is much harder to fix).

They are over rewarding fall quads. That is a way of encouraging young skaters to go for difficult elements but not care about the clean program as a whole in my opinion.

Well, I do agree that falls should be punished more, but still, nobody is forced to go that route - as we saw at Worlds, there are other ways to score well with a clean program (if not well enough for the podium).

I think Dmitry has great expressiveness for his age & is much more than just a jump machine. But yes, he needs to become more consistent for sure.

He's still just 15!
Looked easy as a triple!

I agree, but that has little to do with the thread. From what I've seen of Dmitry Aliev this season, he's actually quite an expressive skater, not just a quad machine.

There is not a lot of talk of young Russian ice dancers on this thread. Last year on the JGP I fell in love with Anastasia Shpilevaya/Grigory Smirnov. It's not always easy for me to know all the technical details in ice dance, but I love the expression these two show:

Any chance for them in the future?

It's not officially confirmed yet but is being discussed on Russian forums that Sasha Proklova has left Inna Goncharenko and trains now with Elena Buianova (Sotnikova's coach).
This is her profile from CSKA website:

Goncharenko is a former coach acc. to it.
The rumour is that Goncharenko is shocked that Sasha left her
:jaw: so Buianova couldn't recruit Elena Radionova, she moved to Proklova??????

It's frustrating, but I wasn't surprised. This season Sasha lacked focus coach. Took advantage of Buyanova.

Veronika Zhilina, born 2008, Arkhangelsk.

Trained by mother, started skating at 1 year 8 months. Competing against 6-7yo girls, in the future mom thinks about sending her to Sankt Petersburg and pairs skating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xHzQezCVAE

At 5 she had axel in combination and was able to make 5 consecutive jumps:
