If they invited some skaters almost without looking at the final results, it would have been nice to invite Nam.
I think Kozuka is one of five JPN slot.
Others are probably Murakami, Takahashi/Kihara, the Reeds.
Novice skater Wakaba Higuchi is also skating.

Wth is Elladj Balde doing there? Not to be mean, but even CBC can't be bothered with that guy. They showed footage of every Canadian skater except him lol. The Japanese people love Kevin, you'd think he'd be there instead.

That's the part of main reasons, I guess.
As a Japanese, I don't see it is based on popularity in Japan, since no Kozuka, Kevin, Misha, etc.
Maybe, they refused becouse of injury or something, or they have already left Japan.

However..., Kim is a bad joke.
I know he is a show-man; however, it is disrespectful to other skaters who made FP.

Maybe they dropped Gracie because her racist tweets didn't go over well.

I mean, she "onry" placed 5th... but perhaps Wagner was the better representative, especially with her 4th place in the FS.

I'm surprised that Maxim Kovtun isn't included, but not surprised that Gracie isn't. She made an obvious racist slur against the most beloved athlete in Japan, nevermind in the history of Japanese figure skating. Japanese public is polite and will not behave rudely even against someone they do not like, but Gracie, I am afraid, will not lose her racist image anytime soon. In fact, she's never gonna lose it unless she does something dramatic, like stop dying her hair and drops the Disney crap from her program and shows she's changed by showing appreciation for her own ethnic roots, to begin with.

Thank you so much!! I'm curious to know if you'll be putting it online afterwards?
Staying up until five AM almost killed me yesterday!
