I don't know but it's an intriguing idea! Come to think of it, the 3rd movement might be lovely, too.

Allegreto from Symphony No. 7 is magnificent and one of the greatest musical compositions in history (IMO). Why hasn't any skater picked it? It's like asking for the gold medal to be handed to you.

The second movements are always the hardest, most moving and the most important movements of all Beethoven symphonies. Thus the problem, extremely difficult to interpret!!! :p

I haven't seen anyone made Skavinsky's music work either. :scowl: One of the reason I couldn't buy Machida's Fire Bird. Because Stravinsky is my favourite but no one did his music any justice, not to mention his music were written so people can dance along with it.

I am fed up with Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky and Carmen, and Les Misérables.

Anyone skate has intention to skate Schubert's Winterreise song cycle? Any song in that cycle would do. My favourite! Please make it happen!

Re: Stravinsky, back in the day the Duchesnays used "The Rite of Spring" -- 1988 Olys, IIRC. I hated the program but that's just my opinion. On a more positive note, I was thinking the other day that "L'Histoire du Soldat" has definite possibilities. Same for "Pulcinella."

"Winterreise" -- wow, you're definitely thinking out of the box! Fine by me, but I want "Die Schone Mullerin" too.... :)

Totally agree re: the Allegretto. Just never thought of it as music to skate to but am willing to be convinced.

BTW, have you ever read Leonard Bernstein's The Joy of Music? Asking b/c it has a wonderful chapter on Beethoven with an amazing discussion of the Allegretto. One of my all time favorite books on music.

Die Schone Mullerin is great, what about Auf dem Wasser zu singen?? I love this version the most: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dokb2pA82gQ

I totally agree with more PianoGuys. I'm actually surprised that not many people have used their music already...
Petrushka by Stravinsky, piano version please!!!

And Beethoven piano sonata no 24:

As for the strings:
And Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata!!!!!!!!!

And Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola!!! Movement 2 sounds like it belongs to the romantic period, not the classical period that Mozart was living in.

^PCS might be thru the roof. I'm just not sure how the robotic arm movements during the beat box section (~1:50 mark) would score as a Choreographed Sequence. I'm all for it.

For either S/K or V/T, pairs short program: the Andre 3000 / Beyonce cover of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" from the soundtrack to 'The Great Gatsby'.
V/T are fans of Beyonce and Jay-Z, so it would make sense for them to skate to their music if they allow lyrics.
If not, it'll make a great show piece exhibition number for them.
The track runs 3:21 so it'll need to be shortened for competition.
Unless they mix it with another song and make it a FS.

I'd like to see something from the Hunger Games score, oddly enough. I feel like parts of it are great and dynamic. It would just take getting the right part.

In exhibition terms, I'd like someone to use some Sara Bareilles. I loved Kanako's King of Anything exhibition this season. I think Gonna Get Over You would be a good choice for a younger more lyrical skater like Polina. I also think Manhattan or The Light or Islands would be a good choice for an older skater.
