I also really love the fact that they don't always use typical ice dance music and even have story lines that are a little different from other teams here and there.

Also, I love these two exhibition programs, so I thought I'd share...

Somehow I feel like their style is like "the best of V/M & D/W": They have the connection and smoothness of V/M and the athleticism and fierceness/light-heartedness (depending on program) of D/W. Obviously still work to be done to get to the level of those teams, but I have no doubt that they're capable.

I would agree with you. I guess that's why I am enjoying them - because I feel they have the potential to be great like those two teams....granted, I still think that they're a little bit different than both teams mentioned. At this point it does seem like they have some of the better qualities that both of those teams had though, I agree. I feel like they have a very genuine connection which does help. And there's something about them and their programs that I guess reminds me to a degree of old school ice dance in a way that D/W and V/M did not.

I don't think they've peaked yet, so hopefully we see them push themselves even farther this coming season....maybe with a new field and open spots they'll have that drive that D/W displayed this past quad to really want gold.

I really loved their gala this year. Any chance they could turn it into a competitive free dance?

Hmm....I'm not sure about that one, so I'll let someone else respond...

http://theweaverpojelove.tumblr.com/fanqa - However, I did find this Q&A interview while leafing around online and thought I'd share it. It's old....but still nice

Here's a fun picture of them in Toronto at the NXNE Garden Party in Hello! magazine. They're with Serena Ryder. They look wonderful!

Yes! I've seen some other pics of them from that event; and they look like they had fun. And they look great (as usual)!

Here is a new article about Weaver/Poje: http://ice-dance.com/main/news/gener...im-to-dominate

    - It's really nice! It talks about their off season engagements this past summer...plans for this season...etc.
Still no real program info. They do mention having a serious SD and pairing it with a lighter FD

Thank you for posting it. Interesting that even Weaver noted that the elimination of one lift means less of a "wow" factor for the program as a whole. Couldn't agree more.

Hmm, has there ever been a "light" W/P program that stood out for anyone? I honestly can't think of one off the top of my head. This is such a crucial year for them, I'm not sure a 'light' program is the best way to go. But we shall see what we shall see, no?

Yeah - I'm not thrilled with the new rules concerning lifts personally, but I suppose we shall see how it goes.

Here's another new article put out today: http://www.insideskating.net/2014/08...e-here-and-now

"We’ve chosen to do a traditional Paso Doble, but put our own flavor into it.
As with the short dance, for the free we wanted to do something different than what we’ve done in the past. We have chosen a classical piece that is definitely intricate!"
    - Now I'm curious as to which classical piece they're doing...

Yes, I agree that "light" has never been their best suit. I guess the paso has to be serious so I suppose a distinctive fd is in order. They've always had a close, flirty relationship on the ice so maybe this fd can be a je suis malade without the malade! I'm wondering if they are considering waltzy classical like die fliedermous?

Last seasons's Finnstep was pretty much as light as can be and I thought it suited them wonderfully. But other than that one I agree, they seem to have the best charisma for more somber styles.
