Someone from our fan group on facebook translated another article about the same thing. (I know nothing of French so I had to wait for someone to step in!!!) and here I copy and paste, along with his personal opinion thrown in.

Stephane and Peter Grutter as well, are removed as coaches from Geneva's icerink, Patinoire Vernets. There are several arguments for that, the main which is mentioned in all articles is that Stephane doesn't have a coaching diploma and they bring up Roger Federer as an example that he wasn't allowed either to be a pro coach without a diploma. (my opinion: Switzerland is a country where rules and law and highly respected so I'm not really surprised by the fact that there are no exceptions. if the law says that the coach needs to have a diploma, than not even Stephane can be exception. Not like i'm agreeing with this but it's my personal experience with Switzerland).
The other argument against Stephane that he is very busy and absent many times and they want to have someone full time in Vernets.
The articles calls this whole issues scandalous because in Switzerland it is an outrageous thing to hire a French person when there is an available Suisse applicant. (again a very typical thing in Switzerland).
In one article they also mention that they want to establish a clean training structure in Vernets, because so far there were 4-5 different coaching teams with different prices which they say it's confusing for parents and skaters. Instead of this system, Vanessa Gusmeroli (3-time french champion) proposed a new transparent training structure for everyone.
That's it more or less. Personally I think the only valid argument is that Stephane is very busy, we see that he is still travelling a lot and he has Champery as well. In my opinion it's understandable if a club wants to have a full time head coach. However, the way this whole thing is presented...it's so upsetting! I'm sure if anyone would take 5 mins and sat down with Stephane like: listen, we need here someone full time present. Could you be a guest coach or sth? or just find any other normal solution here. I have the feeling that someone just wanted to create scandal where there is no need for it. If Stephane is not teaching in Vernets anymore, it's the loss of Geneva's skaters.

The last line I wholeheartedly agree!!!

    thanks a lot, MGstyle!
oh, stephane... iagree with you. even if he cant stay on the rink for so long due to his schedule, getting instruction from him is truely a fruitful experiences for young skaters. actually, he's comtributed to the Japanese skaters in training camps or so, and kept being a great inspiration. such a way isnt good for the Switzerland skaters...

You are very welcome hamaguri I was also curious about this and I was glad someone translated for us!!! Well, his own school in Champery is doing very well, they also have Peter and Salome, so perhaps in a long run they may well become more successful than the Vernet school ;-) We will be holidaying not so far from Champery in July, I am so hoping Stèph will be there and if he is I am thinking of a visit!!!

Wow, okay Steph doesn't have a coach diploma but why Peter Grutter was removed, he was Stephane's coach for years, doesn't he have an official coach diploma too?
I am shocked to read all of this to be honest. I hope it doesn't hurt Steph too much.

Stèphane is reported to be taking this very well, and telling the public not to make a huge deal about it. It does seem extremely unfair, ridiculous even, to all of us who are not familiar with the "Swiss way". Maybe he is glad now that he can concentrate more on the Champery school, when he is not travelling. But I do agree the removal of Mr. Grutter is definitely strange. Perhaps there have been a personal conflict?

His performances at FaOI Kobe (6/17-19) was aired and uploaded!

New EX "Take me to Church"

"La Valse" collaboration with pianist Kotaro FUKUMA

    Stephane is always briliant.
I find this La Valse is especially perfect! I cant imagine how he's worked hard to show such an awsome performance. His movements are incredible.
He gets the last program as the center of the show and got huge applause from the audience.

Further, he got 4T at the jump battle after finale! (Around 28:50, http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4h...E3%81%99_sport) According to tweet, his success rate of 4t at the jump battles through FaOI is so high!

Vanessa Gusmeroli has proposed a terrible project, in that she wants to be the only "head" coach. All other students from the 4 other teachers (including Peter Grutter) would be her "official" pupils. They are obliged to have collective classes with her and can have some privates with their old coach but only when she allows it. She only has 3 actual pupils in National Level and would get another 17 from the other coaches if everyone joined her programme. Of course M. Grutter refused to work with her, and the other three teachers as well. Not only does he not want to lose his students but he does not want them skating with her technique which we do not find very professional. They were all of a sudden without work after 40 years teaching in Vernets. So our kids (my daughter is Grutter's student) found themselves also with no ice for the next seasons to train with their coaches, as they obviously do not want to skate with VG. Also she said her rates would be half price but they turned out to be more expensive than what we paid before. So this project is just impossible for us. So we did a petition against the decision and won and now the School will not be able to begin and they must find a new solution.
VG is very angry of course and is now sending very mean messages out against Stéphane on Facebook. We are scandalized by this situation.

Thank you very much for sharing an insider view and knowledge with us! I'm very sorry for the skaters and the four coaches at Vernet, but if you won, why can't the school start? Can't they just get the four coaches back, give them back their students and tell Gusmeroli either to focus on her own students or leave?

Yes the 4 teachers will be able to teach until December. There is a status quo situation until then, but it will be very difficult for our kids as the 5 teachers will be on the ice again ... The City is studying the case and must come up with a solution in December... we will see. They could still decide to keep her project as is but I doubt it ... I hope not !
