TSB: How were you feeling going into Nationals in Atlanta? What motivated you to keep working through the pain?

Parker: Let's just say I was not even close to myself at Nationals, but I tried to fight through all the adversity and give a decent performance. I had a sprained ankle and a terrible case of the flu. After my Junior grand prix in Poland at the end of October, I was forced to take several weeks off to heal a stress reaction in my foot. When I came back, I hurt my ankle and it was never okay before nationals. I lost valuable training time, and I would estimate I maybe had a week at most of doing triple jumps between November and Nationals in January, and that had an enormous effect on my skating for Nationals. I am finally healthy now, and hope to have a great year.

I spoke with him in Atlanta during the false alarm fire. He was worried about his father who was still asleep. on the umpteenth floor. At that point we didn't know it was a false alarm.

He's a nice chap and let's see next year in Portland.
