I have seen no lady goes out to the rink without make-up. Then what about the men? Do they also use make up in their competition?

Maybe I am not so good with this matter, cause I rarely seen male skaters with make up on their faces (except Johnny Weir and several others...) or is it that my eyes can't see the make-up through the camera lens?

Did Patrick Chan also use make-up?

I always assumed that all male figure skaters wore stage makeup like actors in plays do. No?

I think many probably do, just much more subtly than Weir ever did. In shows they probably do, because of the spotlight.

 Cause I see lots of them finish the free skate very very sweaty, then they use the towel to wipe their faces, they still look the same. So I assume many they don't use any make-up. Or it is different when you make up for men?

It depends on the person and their preference. I think they should have some sort of makeup like stage actors. It may look weird close up but from a distance if you do not wear makeup generally your face and the detailed facial expressions a skater may want to emote wont be as clearly caught on the camera.

There is a saying in performance, when you think you are overdoing it, the audience would most likely think you look normal. If you think you look normal, the audience thinks you look sort of dull. If you look dull, the audience switches off.
Its sounds counterintuitive but its true.

The men's makeup would be very subtle, not like the ladies', so you wouldn't necessarily notice it come off.

Under spotlights, they would all wear it, I think, because bright lights on the skin make it shine.

Lipstick is hard to notice if it's subtle. I mean powder. What about powder, mascara and eyeliner?

I imagine powder is quite common, and once or twice this season I have thought several of the men might have subtle touches of mascara or eyeliner. :)

No makeup? You mean Evan Lysacek is actually orange in real life? ;)

Too much fake tan is not makeup ;)

Somehow , as i see FS as a sport and not directly as an art performance, i am not quite happy to think about men having make-up  ( i didn't like the red lipstick of the USA girls either this season). It is diferent for the gala or exhibition, there i woudn't mind it, thought.

and somehow i would accept easier on the pairs or dance male than at the single men. I have more the image of athletes in my head, i know.

I think I saw Amodio with a bit more 'tint' to his face and cheeks than usual at the olympics, but I could be wrong.
You see Hanyu sweat sooo much after his performances and then wipe his face on a towel, but it doesn't look like anything is coming off. Sometimes I wish he would wear a bit of toner, because sometimes he looks so pale it's scary. -Could be when he's not feeling well, like at the 2013 Worlds.

Okay, here are some male skaters' HD images that I can find, I bet they didn't use make up, at least in the competitions that these photos were taken:

Or maybe that they use make-up but my eyes can't see it, because of my myopia? Or the cameras couldn't capture the make-up layer because it's too subtle?

In the documentary about Torvill and Dean's return to the Olympic ice in 1994, a makeup artist worked on Chris and Jayne who was also getting herself prepared before the competition.

I've seen male skaters with obvious makeup on their faces, but I can't remember now. I'll update if I can.

Well Machida does have acne so he does to cover it up.

I now Meryl Davis does Charlie´s make. The camara always look to capture them doing so and I think is cute.

Charlie White has make-up on his face? why I have never noticed that? I mean, look at his face in Kiss and Cry, I always thought he had no make-up! Really? I am surprised!

Sandhu's eyes were frequently beautifully made up. Of course, he came from a balletic background. That being said, I don't think most male skaters wear make-up. Why should they? Do male gymnast wear make-up when they do their floor exercise? Although the females wear make-up, their hair often looks like an afterthought and some could use help in that department.

Charlie is perfect, just look at his pretty face http://hairstyles.thehairstyler.com...t_view_images/2213/original/Charlie-White.jpg
It was in a interview for the icenetwork that they talked about it. Meryl saids that Charlie always asking if he should were make up, and she tell her yes and then do it. She said that he has told Charlie he should learn to made his own make up so that the camara don´t catch doing so but Charlie said he was scared too learn how to apply make up-
