Gracie Gold will skate to The Sleeping Beauty for her FS, choreographed by Marina Zoueva and Oleg Epstein. No news yet on her SP music.

Interested to see how this will look. Her first competition of the Olympic season will be at Skate Milwaukee in July.

Very interested to see this.

I think Jeremy Abbott is working with Robin Cousins for one of his programmes:

Yes, I think if you look back in this thread (or elsewhere on GS), it was noted some weeks ago that Abbott had gone on the record that he would be working with Cousins.
And in recent days, Abbott also has tweeted about their progress together on choreo; DSC tweeted about having Cousins in the house; etc. :)

Love the great photo in the tweet from Cousins -- thank you for the link.

Ask and ye shall receive! Jeremy Abbott is going back to Muse for his LP! And, Robin Cousins will be choreographing his SP.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j74p2FaqxRQ&feature=youtu.be

I went back to find the previous reference re Cousins and Abbott. So it is the SP that they have been choreographing this past week.
The post above (#87) is from Apr 14.
I have never clicked on the YouTube link, but I now seem to recall reading somewhere else that at WTT, Abbott met with his Japanese fan club and announced his programs as above.

ETA:

BTW, Abbott's mother sent a tweet a while ago (must have been at the beginning of the week) that basically said (I'm paraphrasing) that she was headed to Detroit to witness Abbott's last experience of working on choreo. Her wording was a lot more artful that mine, thank goodness. Anyway, she clearly was indicating that Abbott will retire after the coming season.

That timetable does not seem surprising, but has Abbott himself also spoken openly of his planned retirement?

Max Aaron FS: Carmen (per IN, May 21)

Excerpt from http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130521&content_id=48162418&vkey=ice_news :

For the long program, I really have to get my strength up. It is a four-minute, 45-second, leg-burning program. I am definitely excited to show how I can move differently. Lori [Nichol] found a contemporary arrangement of Carmen. It varies between a classic and modern take on Carmen. I feel it keeps people wondering what the music is until the very end, when you realize the music is Carmen.

When I came to Lori with the idea of Carmen, she wanted to make sure that we did an original spin on Carmen. Lori's choreography is truly amazing, and I love how she found a modernistic movement. I definitely wanted something known but not too overplayed. I know it's going to make me grow as a skater.

That's interesting for Max -- his skating is a more contemporary style so it'll be interesting to see his interpretation of new age Carmen (even if it is god-awfully overdone). And Nichols' choreo will certainly push him... he needs to break from being just a jumper.

SP has Latin music as ideas :disapp:

Her skating is rather serious and I think Latin music will actually serve her well, if it's something like a Tango. I cannot picture her doing upbeat, fun Latin music like Osmond's Mambo No.8.

Another interview with Tuk

http://fsrussia.ru/news/596_elizave...-dobavil-svezhesti-i-novizny-moim-programmam/
"

with google translator:

-Had time to work on new programs to the tour?

- We worked on the short program. Almost made it. Put the program a new choreographer, dancer of the Kirov Ballet named Anton, who has recommended Yuri Smekalov. I loved our cooperation, because a new director prompted some unexpected things, raisins, added freshness programs. I do not imagine that the hands can be so beautifully wrapped and tailored to the steps. I think it turned out great.

Christopher Caluza on the upcoming season in an IN interview:

http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130521&content_id=48160754&vkey=ice_news

"Icenetwork.com: What are your plans for the next season?

Caluza: I'm still picking my long, but I'm skating to "Jumpin' Jack" (by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy) for my short. My free skate will be another concerto. I'm still planning which competitions I'm going to be sent to. I've been working on my triple Axel and quad loop, so I hope to make this season my best one yet.

This may be my only chance for the Olympics, as I still don't know what I will be doing the next four years from now. This season will be difficult, but I love what I do."

Well, this can be good, if it is REALLY a modern carmen and if there is some real choreography, but I feel that someone like Lori is exactly what Max needs... I hope there will be more than crossovers and hands movements during the first 1:30...

Please, please, please, not something like 2011-2012 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn9vRqJmgac), that was incredibly awful choreography! :bang:

I don't quite follow all names of music for top skaters. sorry too early for me. but it seems 'the honorable' Carmen #1 for Sochi Olympic season goes to Max Aarron of USA. okay. :sarcasm: Awaiting close follow-ups from you guys to which skater Carmen #2 will go, then #3...#15432 will go...:slink:

Be more serious. Thank you so much, as always, for all follow-up info, golden! :)
Good side of Max's Carmen news for me is it sounds like contemporary/modern version. Hope he will pull it off. Fingers crossed!

ETA #2: I have a suspicion that Gracie will be skating to the waltz from the ballet, which, contrary to popular belief, is not light and lyrical the whole way through. Certainly it has its gentle parts--it's a waltz, after all, and there are parts like the "Once Upon a Dream" motif, but the piece as a whole doesn't suggest that it can only be skated to by a pretty little pixie.

I think this is a good choice for her. Familiar yet not that overused music, nothing too challenging so she can focus on her jumps, she naturally looks like a Disney princess.

IN has an article up about Rohene Ward's return to competition. He said he has done 1,500 Holiday on Ice shows

For his short program, Ward will skate to "Din Da Da" by Kevin Aviance. His free skate is to "Weather Storm" by Craig Armstrong.

Lysacek FS: Samson and Delilah

Sorry if this is old news ... don't remember whether it already was known and/or announced???

"The plan for Lysacek is to come up with a new short program, but he will use Samson and Dalilah for his free. He had planned on using that music for the free skate last season but never unveiled it in competition because of injuries."

Lysacek, Ten will move with Carroll to L.A. facility

As for Ten, the same article reports:
"Carroll said Ten originally had planned to use his routines from last season -- both of which were selections from the Oscar-winning movie, The Artist -- for the Olympic campaign, but since they were so successful last season, they felt they had to change gears for this season. Nichol will craft both programs, but the music has not been selected as of yet."
