I was invited to a Derby party on Saturday. That is my only proof that it's this weekend. Super

I still like Samraat. And Danza (named after actor Tony Danza) is getting some notice.

    Thanks, Iluvtodd!

I hope the weather is better along the East Coast on Saturday than it is today (and forecast for tomorrow also). As I understand it, today's weather is the pits all the way down to Florida. Aaag!

Wicked Strong is named after the Boston bomb survivors. And he's looking good.

Hoppertunity is such a great name! I was so sorry to hear earlier this week that he was out with an injury.

And oh, goody, Gary Stevens is riding! I don't know a lot about racing, but I've been a fan of Gary Stevens since learning about him as a result of his acting turn in Seabiscuit, where he played "Iceman" George Wolff.

Stevens is a great guy! Very friendly. It would be nice if a female jockey won, but Vicar's In Trouble drew a stinky post posistion.

    For pics of the runners:

Funny you should say so. I was on the phone with a buddy last night, and I said I would root for Gary Stevens while she planned to cheer for the woman jockey. I'd be happy if either won.

I met Corey Lanerie in an airport many years ago!

    Go California Chrome, Samraat!
