Shen & Zhao not only give me gooseflesh, I get teary almost every time!

Wow. Just wow. The speed, the height of the jumps, and especially the unison of their SBS jumps -- exquisite. Made me teary, too. Many, many thanks, UnsaneLily.

TMC -- I love cats and have a special weakness for the tuxedo variety. The one in your avatar is a cutie!

Edit: judging from the comments on YouTube, those of us getting weepy at this performance have lots of company. It really was one for the ages; right up there with some of G&G's best, which is not a comparison to be made lightly.

Shen and Zhao, 2003. I was there. People were still teary-eyed and in awe on the Metro the next two days. It is one of those amazing moments that leave you breathless.

You lucky duck. I agree about this one: even just on TV or YouTube, it does indeed move one to tears.

My recent goose bumps may sound weird... it is the final 2 jump passes of Hanyu's 2014 Worlds LP, which clearly had some issues (Here starting from 03:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP6N31F9nzQ#t=209). The reason is it shows how he wants it.

The 3Lz1Lo3S combination, after watching the awkward 3Lz landing I just thought "alright, done deal, he just lost it, congrats to Machida", but then he made the 3S out of nothing. "How he did that? I have no idea". And amazingly, because he had some problem with the jumps which slowed down the speed, as a result each of the landings hit the right note of the music:p

Then the final 3Lz, it was the only time of this season that he showed emotion by making a fist after landing it. At that moment I knew he was going to make it. And again, the landing and the gesture just hit the right note of music, which I like so much:p

OK were I not in the Arena that day, I might not be that impressed. But still goose bumps to that determination to get something you really want.

for me, Narumi Takahashi and Mervin Tran's Worlds 2012 LP gave me the goosebumps (who knew that would be their last competition together. still so sad about their split; they were one of my favorite pairs). it wasn't perfect but the passion they put into it gave me the chills. and of course, their adorable reactions in the K&C

Well, truth be told, I haven't seen much of Dube/Davison, probably just one or two performances beside this one, and I've heard they were quite the inconsistent pair too, but this performance really was something special. Especially that last lift...

It's off-season and I've been watching a lot of old videos on Youtube.

I've realised that I seem to be exceptionally susceptible to chills/goose bumps/shivers when I see something awesome, and I always seem to get them at the same point of a programme. It doesn't necessarily have to be an especially cool lift or an exciting jump or a fast spin - sometimes the tiniest hand gesture just hits the spot exactly! I thought it might be fun to see if the parts that we find chill-inducingly awesome are the same for others, and at the same time give each other suggestions for vids we haven't seen/have not watched in a while that are worth a re-watch.

Some of my "special moments" are:

- Charlie's huge half-loop in their Borodin free dance
- The few strokes exactly to music just before the diagonal step sequence in D/W's Samson & Delilah & the back spiral into the camel spin in the same
- The Y-spiral followed by the 'tano Lutz in Jason's Riverdance free skate
- The hand gestures exactly to the music in the 2nd spin in Ashley's Samson & Delilah free skate
- The step sequence in Max's Tron sp - there's one cool step he does that I can't really describe, but it gets me every time

Could you say which exact performances you mean? Competition and year please :)

I also love them in their wickle tuxes! I have two  This one's my eldest at 8, the younger one is 3 this summer and refuses to grow up - she's still a kitten! I've never seen that anywhere else. I mean a cat/kitten that isn't a dwarf just "staying kitten". I don't mind though. she's the cutest. They''re both from a shelter.

D&W's Eleanor Rigby, in the original darker version, skated at 2007 SkAm, the lift where Meryl ends up upside down, and again, the ending. In this version, you have no doubt that their Eleanor Rigby is about deep depression, and the inability of others to help you out of it. Goosebumps!

The judges did not like this version, perhaps because it was so sad. The dance was radically changed for its next outing.
