Odd choice, but Sasha Cohen's Romeo and Juliet at the Sears Opening. Because she wasn't required to pack so many technical elements in, her team could simplify the choreography and really highlight the emotion and it was SO SO SO SO much better than her "real" competition version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PDa...KmcGb&index=12

Well, truth be told, I haven't seen much of Dube/Davison, probably just one or two performances beside this one, and I've heard they were quite the inconsistent pair too, but this performance really was something special. Especially that last lift...

I've realised that I seem to be exceptionally susceptible to chills/goose bumps/shivers when I see something awesome, and I always seem to get them at the same point of a programme. It doesn't necessarily have to be an especially cool lift or an exciting jump or a fast spin - sometimes the tiniest hand gesture just hits the spot exactly! I thought it might be fun to see if the parts that we find chill-inducingly awesome are the same for others, and at the same time give each other suggestions for vids we haven't seen/have not watched in a while that are worth a re-watch.

Some of my "special moments" are:

    - Charlie's huge half-loop in their Borodin free dance
    - The few strokes exactly to music just before the diagonal step sequence in D/W's Samson & Delilah & the back spiral into the camel spin in the same
    - The Y-spiral followed by the 'tano Lutz in Jason's Riverdance free skate
    - The hand gestures exactly to the music in the 2nd spin in Ashley's Samson & Delilah free skate
    - The step sequence in Max's Tron sp - there's one cool step he does that I can't really describe, but it gets me every time
Could you say which exact performances you mean? Competition and year please :-)

Wow this is a lot of videos! Thanks everybody!
TMC -- I love cats and have a special weakness for the tuxedo variety. The one in your avatar is a cutie!
I also love them in their wickle tuxes! I have two This one's my eldest at 8, the younger one is 3 this summer and refuses to grow up - she's still a kitten! I've never seen that anywhere else. I mean a cat/kitten that isn't a dwarf just "staying kitten". I don't mind though. she's the cutest. They''re both from a shelter.

D&W's Eleanor Rigby, in the original darker version, skated at 2007 SkAm, the lift where Meryl ends up upside down, and again, the ending. In this version, you have no doubt that their Eleanor Rigby is about deep depression, and the inability of others to help you out of it. Goosebumps!

The judges did not like this version, perhaps because it was so sad. The dance was radically changed for its next outing.

You are right. This version is waaaay better. I saw the Worlds version only and tbh I didn't like it very much. I think the music version as well is different here?

I hadn't seen this one either, thanks dorispulaski! Their Eleanor Rigby dance is the only one I don't watch again and again. I've watched it perhaps twice and I love Davis and White and the Beatles - there's just something that I don't like about it. This one's way better though.

Watching this I was yet again impressed by how much the eye is drawn to Charlie. Usually, when watching ice dance, I look at the lady and the man is more like a supporting act to the woman, like a beautiful frame to a beautiful painting. I'd say in about 99% of the couples the lady is the star. With Meryl and Charlie, I find that I have to make a conscious effort to look at Meryl. It's not that Meryl isn't good or that Charlie is better, there's just something in his intensity and presence, some kind of can't-put-my-finger-on-it charm. The only other couple I can think of where the male draws you in is Anissina/Peizerat. Who knows, maybe it's the hair?

For me I think it was the music version they used at Worlds. I have to check again but this one sounded a bit different.

I was lucky enough to have a tuxedo cat, Portia (whom I used to call Portion while cuddling her). I also referred to her as a linoleum cat because of those striking black-and-white kitchen floors. She was exquisite and so glossy and soft. When I got her (full grown; her previous human was moving to Indiana), she was nervy and almost unfriendly. Within short order, she was a purring machine. She took really good care of me.
