Thanks, I revised my listing based on the multiyear world standings.

    Top 10 skaters: Russia-4, US--2, Japan- 3

    Top 25 skaters: Russia-5, US-6, Japan-5

So going from the multiyear to the seasons world standings, Russia has gone from 5 in the top 25, to 8 top 25 skaters.

That is for the 2013-14 standings. The Japanese have been grooming her to replace Mao/Suzuki, and entering her in a lot of competitions. She got 2nd at 4CC, an ISU championship, got 2 5th place finishes in her senior GP's, and won 2 senior B competitions, both in Asia and probably not that competitive which gave her more world standing points.

The ISU has updated the ICE DANCE World Standings to remove the retired and split couples (or at least most of them), but has not tackled the other disciplines as yet.

Top 24 in Ice Dance now are:

    1 DAVIS / WHITE
    2 VIRTUE / MOIR
    3 BOBROVA / SOLOVIEV
    4 CAPPELLINI / LANOTTE
    5 WEAVER / POJE
    6 CHOCK / BATES
    7 ZHIGANSHINA / GAZSI
    8 HUBBELL / DONOHUE
    9 SHIBUTANI / SHIBUTANI
    10 GILLES / POIRIER
    11 COOMES / BUCKLAND
    12 ZLOBINA / SITNIKOV
    13 PAPADAKIS / CIZERON
    14 GUIGNARD / FABBRI
    15 CARRON / JONES (split)
    16 ORFORD / WILLIAMS
    17 ALDRIDGE / EATON
    18 HAWAYEK / BAKER
    19 REED / REED
    20 KOLBE / CARUSO (split)
    21 MONKO / KHALIAVAN
    22 YANOVSKAIA / MOZGOV

Those two senior B competitions (where she beat Kexin Zhang, and where she beat Miyabi Oba) got her 500 ranking points, which bumped her from 15th to 4th.

Again people, the rankings shouldn't be taken at face value. Lipnitskaia's appearance at Finlandia is what's keeping her ahead of Mao, even though Mao beat her at Worlds and the GPF. If Wagner or Kostner podiumed at any senior B competition last season, they would be 4th. Had Gold not skated at the US Classic, she'd be 10th. Li is 39th. Park is 58th. Osmond is 70th. These mean nothing.
