I really hope we see some video from this show. What a fabulous cast!! It's been fun watching all the skaters tweet about it and put up pictures on instagram!

Also a funny thing I want to note! Maybe I'm way behind on noticing this, but I just watched the finale video where everyone is wearing what I'm imagining is reflective of traditional Kazakh dress, and Carolina is wearing that dress that was her first Scheherazade dress everyone (myself included) had such problems with. It makes me wonder if that dress was originally made for this show. It also makes me wonder how often skaters get to keep costumes they use from shows like this, or if something is made specifically for the show do they have to buy it themselves if they want to keep it?

It looks like a really fun show to do - they get to do fun touristy stuff in Kazakhstan, and it's not a place most skaters (or people) would likely visit otherwise.

Yes, it was the same dress and it was made for her to wear in the 2013 shows. All the skaters were given their traditional costumes last year to take home as a commemorative gift (see here - scroll down for English). Kostner chose to wear hers at CoC as her own costume was not yet ready. I actually picked up on it being the same dress at the time ;) The costume wasn't my cup of tea and I didn't think it was right for the program, but it was a sweet gesture on her part of acknowledge it like that.

^oh nice! what a great souvenir. It looks like a really great event and, as you said, an amazing opportunity to visit a part of the world most people would not likely visit. Some of the photos of the skaters in the landscape are really stunning though. Makes me want to travel!

Thumbs up to DT and his team for great shows. DT's experiences with all those shows seems to pay off. Great casts. Amazing production. Hope to see more of HD videos. Thanks every one for the links.

I must say this show had the best cast I have ever seen. Don't know how can they invite all of them at once? Really, just put the casting of Yuna show to a long sighhh :bang:

I too am quite astounded by how they pulled it off. Maybe Denis planned this since last year and made everyone promise to him that they would perform to him? And yo, I'm not sure if Yuna's plan was to get a lot of skaters to perform on her show, so no need for comparisons. :)

Totmianina/Marinin, Joubert, Lambiel and Kostner were all in last year's shows, and presumably enjoyed the experience enough to return. Ten has trained alongside Nagasu and Lysacek, so that's another connection. It looks like a well-run show and my guess is that the invited skaters would know that it was something worth doing.

I agree that it's a fantastic cast. With regard to this vs. ATS, I think they just focus on a different mix of skaters. I would imagine that ATS pays more while Ten's show is a better opportunity to travel and explore. Some skaters did both shows, and I'm sure few skaters, if any, would turn down either.

I'm not so sure about that. Many people don't realize Kazakhstan is a rich country. They have been invested a lot of money to develop their skaters during the past few years. I saw some of their team. Very impressive to say the least. DT might be the first recognition but I'm sure we'll see more in the near future.
