Olympia, you inspired me to look for Mr. Biv's photo on Google Images. He has quite the following- many people have uploaded their concept of Roy to the web.

IIRC this was used by the pre-Socratic philosopher Parmenides to prove that empty space cannot exist. Let's agree to take this as the definition of truth: to say that that that is is and to say that that that is not is not -- that is the truth. (It is?)

Well, "Nothing" is "that that is not." Therefore "nothing" is not. That is, empty space cannot exist.

Is that it? It is! ΟΕΔ

With apologies, have to get this out of my system: it's all Greek to me. :slink:

Re: definitions (specifically "is"), must admit that I was thinking of someone on a far less exalted plane than a Greek philosopher: Bill Clinton. :eek:
