I've wanted Christopher Dean to collaborate with Gaby and Guillaume for a long time, they really could be a dream team! I just don't want to get too overexcited too early when a collaboration isn't confirmed yet because I don't want to jinx it - what if he really just bumped into them? Seriously though, if he is choreographing for them, can we just imagine the magic they can create?! :hap85:

For the short dance, he'd be brilliant with them. They really need to be choreographed from the skate up; and he'd do that. Even if he's just giving input, that'd be great. I think he is working with other teams this season though, too. But of all the teams he could possibly work with this season, I know the one I would pick if I were him.

even if they don't work together this season they "broke the ice" (not sure if that expession exist in english).

they met briefly in 2016 worlds and now he went to see them. i'm sure one day they will work together. imagine what he will do with them and especially with guillaume...

Yes, "broke the ice" or "break the ice" is an expression in English.

And yes, it would be interesting to see them working together. they are young, the future is wide open to try all sorts of things...

It's official! :hap10: Christopher Dean confirms working with Gaby and Guillaume on their SD (37-minute mark on ep. 38) http://web.icenetwork.com/fans/icetalk

Thanks for posting!

Really glad they have added someone new (and esp Christopher Dean to the mix), just because with sharing all the same background coaching team with so many other teams, I think it's important to have a differentiating contribution.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19CYCcmA2Y0 Of course, hoping for something a good as this, but with everything that G and G can bring too.

I find the bit when the interviewer says to Chris Dean about them doing a little of their [Torvill and Dean] choreography during their career, when he turns around and says "We did everything!", interesting. Surely EVERYONE (and especially an interview for ice network) should know that Torvill and Dean did their own choreography; and know how much of a factor that was in what they did for the sport.

Im so with you on that, icetigger! Its so annoying when journalist don't do their job correctly.. (in germany its the worst, because they have NO clue at all whats going on in the world of figure skating, they didn't even really talk about Aljona&Robin at the time.:hslap: its just sad)

by the way I got a new G&G montage for those interested: https://youtu.be/32qtYOx6hNA :)

You're welcome! I just happen to stalk G&G's social media in the anticipation of the new season quite often now

icetigger, I certainly hope that's the direction they've decided to take for the FD! It would be the perfect choice for the Olys imo. I recommend checking out Jeffrey's project called the Cirio Collective, an exploration of contemporary ballet-inspired choreography, e.g. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVinW7MgTUJ/?hl=cs&taken-by=jeffreycirio
I'd love the idea of G&G doing a modern ballet FD, that would nicely tie together what they've done in the past three seasons.

It looks like the Mozart of 2015 was really their trial run through of the the type of skate they will do this year (and consciously so). They look like they are making some smart choices regarding who else is inputting outside their camp, too. Thanks for the instagram link: i only found more classical ballet excerpts of Jeffrey on the youtube: i would think that g and g are probably going for a midpoint between the two styles.

I really like the excerpt from this at 2:49 https://vimeo.com/48117903.

Your "stalking" is very much appreciated!

Agreed about the Mozart - they must have analysed which of the previous FDs worked best with the audience and the judges, and Mozart was attention-grabbing from the first competition onwards. That is exactly the type of program they need this season. They said, after all, that already back when they were doing the Mozart, they had a plan for this whole Olympic quad.

Them getting an input from an outside artist is very impressive in itself - they have a vision and they know what is needed to carry it out. As you've already pointed out before regarding Christopher Dean, adding someone new to the team will help set them apart from the rest of the field. And it will be beneficial to have someone like Jeffrey work with them, because him being a floor dancer, I imagine he doesn't think about certain restrictions of the ice the same way a figure skating choreographer might do, so it'll help them expand their ideas. Having watched some of the videos of him dancing and his choreography, I believe he'll inject G&G's FD with brilliant imaginative movements. Thanks for the link! You're right, that bit of choreography is stunning, very modern.

These few information about their different collaborations promise a lot:).

I guess they're going to start their season at the French Masters. I wonder if they will participate in a challenger (Finlandia trophy?), there is also the Cup of Nice but it is not a challenger and it is in France (but it is better than nothing). Sincerely, I hope they will not start directly with the Grand Prix of China.

They are listed as participants at the French Masters. I think the idea this season is to be up and ready to go as soon as possible. Whether that means competing as early as possible another thing, though.
