    What's the best way to get good positioning in spinning and to reduce traveling?

    You are probably not holding your entry edge long enough.

    An excellent coach and lots of practice! Plus correct alignment of all body parts on the entry.

    Very deep knee bend helps a lot. It gives you a deeper edge and forces you to wait until the edge comes around before hooking the spin. When you go into an upright spin, go in low on the entrance edge as if you're going into a sit spin.
