Sasha's Malaguena at this years Worlds!!!
-the power, the speed, the attack, WOW WOW WOW!!!!:eek:
she should have received ALL 6.0's she was faultless, simply spectacular.

B&S Lady Caliph 2002 Olympics. It was pure perfection!

If only ladies SPs I vote for Irina Slutskaya at the 02 Olympics SP and Elena Sokolova 2003 Worlds SP.

Petr Barna '89 Euro's - a now forgotten masterpiece unfortunately
MK Rach '98 Nats
Midori Ito Jalousie '91 NHK triple axel double toe combo!!!!!
Midori again '88 Olys - left the audience awestruck
Petr Barna '92 Olys - beautiful program. He was great at sp's
Robin Cousins '80 Olys
Lu Chen '95 Worlds - choreo by Cranston. Love it!!

East of eden is my favorite MK program ever!!!!! Sasha's SP at worlds was also amazing, but I'm ready for some new music for next year's short. If only she could skate with that abandon in the lp.... I dont think we have seen the best of what she has to offer yet. :)

Great list so far,
especially agree with Sasha Cohen at Worlds, Alexander Abt at CoR and G&G and B&S at the Olympics.

Would also like to add Emanuel Sandhu SP this year-I loved the footwork sequence.

And if you don't mind me cheating and adding an OD ;)-U&Z Blues piece from 1992. :love:

Although it was never skated to it's potential, Kurt Browning's St. Louis Blues SP from 1994 is a complete masterpiece.

I agree with you about G&G and B&S's short programs. The most technically pure skates I've ever seen. Whenever my friends ask me what is so good about Russian pairs I just get out my 89 worlds tape and show them G&G's SP and LP. Or the 88 Olympics SP and LP, both of those years they were flawless and it is just so beautiful to watch. I couldn't believe those programs didn't get 6.0's...but of course I think they drew first spot for the LP at both comps, which probably accounts for the lack of 6.0s :(

I think , however that Sasha's best performance of this came at SKate Canada '02- even though she fell on the footwork she probablly had the most spark than in any other performance I've seen in her before or since.

ITA, in fact, it was that preformance that made me the huge Sasha fan that I am!
