Short top three summery: Its Samba and Rhumba time!

3. Brianna DELMAESTRO / Timothy LUM CAN [/B]51.81 SB

First of all, they were great in inviting the crowd to join them, it always felt like there was some type of connection between the skaters on the ice and us at the stands. Besides that, her slightly blue outfit did really look great and their Rhumba was a part of the Dirty Dancing Havana Nights movie. Their circular no touch was granted with a level 4 and I loved the transition to that element when her left knee was down on the ice, just greatly choreographed. The rotational lift at the end received a level 4 as well.
While browsing their Bios I saw that Brianna started skating with 4 while Timothy with 10, I would love to know how that influences them on the ice, pity there is no press conference at JGPs. :(

Notable that in the discipline of ice dance, Lum has more experience than his partner, as I learned from this brief interview at their previous JGP this season:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgAOywaGNE0 (1:53 in length, posted Aug 30) [He is pleasantly poised; for some reason, she is giddy and tongue-tied.]

In Figure Skating no, I report exclusively here as simply put in Germany where I live nobody is interested in them and even if, GS offers a much bigger audience and its international and I don't write only about national skaters anyways.

My main profession is musician ;) from journalism alone I can´t make a living sadly but maybe some day I will but then I probably need to purely focus on tennis, snowboard and soccer as this is where I get paid right now :D

Thanks again for all your reporting here on GS, Alex.
And thanks for explaining more about your role as a journalist. Your posts in the Nebelhorn thread were so thorough that at first I wondered whether you had an official role on the organizing committee, although later I realized that we were benefiting from your tireless newsgathering.

Well, Popova/Vlasenko have qualified for the final. And with Macnamara/Carpenter beating DelMaestro/Lum by 8.57, they move ahead in the standings since they each have a second/third, but the total score tiebreaker is in favor of M/C. (Assuming Evdokimova/Bazin do NOT move up a place since they have yet to skate)

Barring a major error by Yanovskaya/Mozgov or Morozova/Zhirnov, they should qualify if they come in 1st/2nd. Looks like an all RUS/CAN final is more and more likely

There's something about Biechler/Dodge I really like. I could watch them forever.

Hehe Organizing Committee that would be fun indeed, well who knows maybe someday :D But yes, I am just gathering, asking and keeping my ears open. ;)

I do organize music events though and sometimes stuff in sport but non is figure skating related ;)

Thanks for the interview btw.

Popova/Vlasenko SD and FD twizzles at Germany are mindblowing for junior level IMO. Perfect syncro and great speed. I'm really impressed.

Well spotted!

But they also skate into the crowd, something that if you don't learn it in the younger years might never come. Even in the warm up Betina was checking people out, smiling at them. That's how you win hearts in this skating world and I loved her outfit, that was great ;)
