The magnificent but stylistically and technically totally different back to back clean freeskates of elegant Evgenia and Wakaba, the Little Mighty Mo, in the Czech Republic was my favorite moment so far this skating season. I liked them both so much I didn't know who I wanted to win, which is the first time I had ever felt that way, so this is another reason it is my favorite moment. Besides, the euphoria experienced in seeing such wonderful performances in succession, there was the drama of who was going to come out on top before the scores were finally announced.

Ok, I know that body image is a hot button, but I am frightened for Medvedeva. She is really skinny, yes, but that can be worked with. However, The girl has no muscle tone on her legs or arms, they are just sticks. I am afraid that she will either dislocate or break bones with a simple fall, they don't seem strong enough to take that strain. Maybe I'm wrong, and I really do like her, I don't mean to criticize, but I am very concerned for her welfare.

That's not what this thread was made for but rest assure as she is an elite level skater and has been training under Eteri for quite a long time now I'm sure they have these things in check.

My favorite moment was the same as a previous posters where the little boy presented Zhenya with her medal. He just couldn't contain himself any longer with being put in charge with holding the gold medal lol. It was very cute.

Impatiently watching the zamboni go back and forth. Boo!!!!! lol

How do the advertisements get into skating vids?

True, but a bathroom break is always a good thing, no? Plus, it's possible to cook an entire meal during a Zamboni break (as I have learned from experience! LOL!).

LoL, I was thinking about this in a strictly opposite direction. The girls with genetics from caucasian peoples such as Evgenia and the next coming star Tsurskaya are often so tiny first and then start to experience strong weight problems in their twenties (with the notable exception of Eteri herself) . So I thought it would be a pity if Evgenia will have a short star carrier (as Gedevanishvili for example).

Does nobody watch any disciple other than Ladies??? :( :(

My fave moment would have to be little precioues Matyas Belohradsky from CZE fighting and finishing his program as trained despite being well behind the music and crowd supporting him :..

Matyáš was really cute!!! I hope that he`ll improve his jumps (but he`s still very young, so he has some time) and one day he`ll get to the podium) And not only to JGP podium)

I do, and I was wondering the same thing. :eek:hwell: I loved Matyas! He just might fill the Tomas-shaped hole in my heart as he gets older. I was also impressed with Andrew Torgashev for being only 13, and the quirky Russians Dmitry Aliev and Daniil Bernadiner. I wished Deniss Vasiljevs would make the final, but he had too many unfortunate errors...still, I'm glad he was able to show his exhibition at the Courchevel Gala. Such a showman!

This has been a pretty enjoyable JGP season. One of the disappointing things is the low number of competitors in the Pairs field. This year I have been very impressed with the quality of Mens skating.

My favourite performance of the season (so far) was that of Andrei Lazukin winning in Dresden

Other performances I enjoyed were

Andrew Torgashev

Roman Sadovsky

Dmitri Aliev

I would agree with previous posters and say Matyas from the Czech Republic and there was also a young Georgian skater who impressed me.

Pairs is my favourite discipline and I would have the short of F/M as my favourite, they along with S/B and V/Z seem to be well clear of the rest of the field. From Dance I would go with Y/M and P/V, I love the twizzles of P/V. For the ladies I would go with Serafima and Marias short programmes.

On the flip side, the US representation (or lack of) in the JGPF is a bit of a shock.

Could you be so kind and write the full names? :D :confused2: Abbreviations are useful when we talk about 2-3 pairs but reflecting on ALL ice dancers that were in JGP is quite annoying. Please :)

But I agree that Fedorova and Miroshkin's SP is brilliant. And - IMO - a little bit undderappreciated. I love also the FD of Madeline Edwards and Zhao Kai Pang. I found Loboda/Drozd's FD quite wearisome in Courchevel but I truly liked it in Aichi.

Hi LittleLotte29,

You got F/M right, the other two pairs are Seguin/Bilodeau and Vigalova/Zakorev. For Ice Dance it is Yanovskaya/Mozgov and Popova/Vlasenko both from Russia.

Two other performances I liked are

Dennis Margalik from Argentina (thanks to Ukraine and Canada)

Armenian Ice dancers Garabedian/Laliberte (both Canadian born but maybe she has Armenian heritage)
