Go Vera and Andrei, I hope they deliver a great skate. Also hope that Lazukin delivers a good performance, it will be his 3rd competition in the last 3 weeks, although I did think he looked a little tired in Croatia this week.

Liza in Germany, Finlandia, Nice and Skate America  I hope she is ok at Skate America, too many competitions in short time.

I merged the two threads. Coupe de Nice is a Senior B, with an associated Junior competition, like Salt Lake is. It just is not part of the Challenger Series.

I wonder why Liza doesn't take a break before Skate America. 8 programs in 4 consecutive weeks?!

My guess is that they want her to get back into the competetive mindset again - also, the more successful skates she has, the more confidence in hersefl she will have, the belief in herself that, yes, indeed, she can do it. Hopefully that can stand her in good stead come Skate America. Also, I don't think she's had any international competitions since... last autumn? Please someone correct me if I misremember!

Senior B is used here for Challenger series, isn't it?
Salt Lake City was a challenger serie, but Coupe de Nice isn't. The subforum "2014-2015 Other International events" subtitles "Japan Open, Coupe de Nice, Ice Star, Golden Bear, etc." ;-)

No big deal, but gotta agree with Nirti :agree: that with Coupe de Nice designated on the GS forum home page as an example of what belongs under Other International events, starting the thread there did make sense.

In any case, thx to Doris for merging the threads. :)

I'm curious to see how Isabelle Olsson fares this season. If she is developing and can challenge the Helgesson sisters. I'm pretty sure Joshi will be Sweden's number one for some years to come(if healthy), but Isabelle could win over Viktoria(with her shaky nerves  ). Anyway good for Sweden to have three ladies fighting for two spots at Euros and one at Worlds. All three must do their best to be the best

I hope we will see some videos.

I really want to see Isabelle to succeed. Her Kill Bill and Boogie Woogie SPs were great. Nothing against the Helgesson sisters but I'd like to see Isabelle to be at Euros team.

For me a Senior B is any ISU sponsored event for which PBs can be recorded, and which can be used for points toward World standings. The Challenge Series events are all Senior B's, but they are not the only Senior B's.

All well and good ...
but the conundrum that Nirti and I were noting was that the left hand and right hand of GS are not on the same page (literally and figuratively) regarding what subforum is the best place for Coupe de Nice.

Someone from GS -- obviously not you ;), Doris -- had specified on the GS forum home page that "Japan Open, Coupe de Nice, Ice Star, Golden Bear, etc." are events that belong under Other International events. (The blurb on the GS forum home page still lists those examples.)

Also confusing to me is that the thread that you started yourself for Skate Down Under is under Other International events.
Skate Down Under and Coupe de Nice both are Senior Bs. Neither is a Challenger event.
So it is inconsistent that Skate Down Under falls under "Other International events," but Coupe de Nice under "Senior B & Other ISU Competitions." :confused2:

I think Nirti and I both are fine with Coupe de Nice landing here under Senior B & Other ISU Competitions.
We just were trying to explain that starting Nirti's thread in Other International events had been in accordance with another GS authority's plan.

PB (or Season Best) - only Challenge Series (points in World Standing and Minimal Technical Score too).
Other Senor B (non-invitational) - only points in World Standing and Minimal Technical Score.

Minimal Technical Scores for JrWorlds may be earned only at Junior Events (SeniorB, JGP, JrWorlds), for Senior ISU Championships and Senior Grand Prix - both at Junior and Senior Events.

Ohhh, thx for reading the post above carefully (as I did not :bang:), AlexRus. Good point that PBs/SBs are among the features distinguishing ISU Challenger events from other Senior Bs.

That's why Max Aaron's ISU SP PB is from this year's SLC Classic, although his SP score at last year's SLC Classic was higher.
