M*A*S*H (still timeless in depicting the utter insanity and waste of war)
All in the Family
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
La Femme Nikita
Deep Space 9 (Best of the Star Treks IMHO)
The Sopranos
Joan of Arcadia
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Equalizer
Farscape (I have hated the Sci Fi Channel ever since they reneged on their promise for a 5th season).

Ther's a theme here somewhere, but I think I'm too sleepy to notice.

And totally honorable mention: St Elsewhere and Hill Street Blues

1. China Beach -- WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO BRING THAT OUT ON DVD?? So many episodes of that show just completely blew me away.
2. The Simpsons
3. Filthy Rich (this was a short-lived show done by the Designing Women team years before DW starring Dixie Carter and Delta Burke; it was a takeoff on Dallas-type soaps and was one of the funniest things I have ever seen!!)
4. Santa Barbara
5. ER
6. CSI
7. Hill Street Blues
8. Laverne & Shirley (hey, cut me some slack -- I was like 10, 11, 12 when it was on!!:D )
9. The Mole (both the first and second ones; Celebrity Mole, however, is pure bilge)
10. Roseanne -- or at least the "middle period" of it, after she'd worked the bugs out and before the last season she didn't want to do and only made the fact too obvious.

Oh I will erase Married with Children and Buffy to put CSI and ER instead, can't believe I forgot about them, I love CSI!!! and in my oldies one, I will have to add the Cosby show, I loved that show

I read and watch specials about Golden Girls but never got to see it, too bad it did seemed like a good series. I think it was E that did an special about series and they said that M.A.S.H. got to highest rating for its last episode? or something like that? what exactly was M.A.S.H about that was so succesfull?

I think it captured the dark humor you need to survive while horror rages around. It may have been set in Korea, but I think it was the first American show to start to face Vietnam. And Doctors (and Nurses) use dark humor to make it through those long nights on call (Trust me on that one :D :D :D )

his political views... his personal opinions... during one of the reunion specials he said that's what made the show so great was that he got the opportunity to show what he thought of all that... because the writers let the actors get involved... Alan directed many of the shows... and wrote a few as well

what exactly was M.A.S.H about that was so succesfull?

again I'll go with what was said on the reunion special... the reason MASH stood out was it wasn't your normal war comedy... they weren't soldiers marching in a line week after week and someone trips and what not... they're a makeshift battle front hospital... facing some of the worst casualties... and they don't want to be there (save for Frank Burns, but he ends up going crazy anyway  ) and so they use their humor to survive... there are some touching moments through out the episodes... some very funny ones... it was just REAL... I can't imagine what they went through... but dad was a coreman in the Navy during Vietnam, and while he enlisted, he says that there's a Hawkeye, a Ferret Face, and a Hot Lips in every unit!

I thought the most interesting aspect of "Mash" was that the series actually lasted longer than the "Korean Conflict".....42

i used to love that show when I was a kid. Alexandra Moltik (sp) who played Victoria Winters is the lady that Claus Von Bulow had the affair with. David Selbe is a WV guy. Still comes back here to do theatre workshops.
