^ Thanks!
I found some reports on Twitter (by searching the names in kanji). Sounds like a really good competition. Lots of 3-3s! A lot of those TES scores would be impressive for a senior skater.

I'm happy with the podium. Judging from the SP clips, Wakaba has improved her 3F, speed and presentation. She has amazing power and jumping technique.
Kaori Sakamoto had a meltdown in ger JGP event, but the jumps she landed in the warm-up (and the 1st part of her LP) were REALLY impressive, so I'm not surprised she scored high here if she went clean.
Yuka Nagai has lovely style, great programs and very high jumps if she's on. If she impoves her speed, power and 3Lz consistency, she could turn into a very wow skater.
Marin and Yuna did very well here. I saw the clips from Marin's SP (jumps) and I really don't understand why she was in 7th after the SP, her jumps were huge and looked clean rotation and edge-wise. If both of the ladies stay injury-free, they could really make a splash in the future. They already have the "it" factor.

Will the Junior championships be broadcasted eventually?:

I heard the problem was the spin? not too sure but yes, it will be broadcast on the 30th! (at 1 AM.. so won't watch) so I guess we can get kind-hearted people to share with us later ;)

^ According to the protocols, what hurt Marin the most were the levels on her step sequence (only lvl1) and spins. Also, her 3Lz was called < (it looked clean to me in real time... Borderline when I downloaded the video just now and watched it frame-by-frame). Those errors should be easy enough to fix - she has good enough SS and spin positions to manage higher levels, and the 3Lz was OK in the LP.

Yuna needs a 3T! She was scoring high in the LP as a novice because there's one less jumping pass, but she was at a disadvantage here and even if her loops weren't <, she'd have trouble matching Marin's score. I really hope she'll work on 2A-3T and a 3-3 of some type soon. I think the 3Lz-3L she did at the regionals and the 3S-3L she did in the SP here would have a hard time getting ratified by an international panel (3Lz-3L<, and 3S<-3L, probably), and it's likely to get worse when she grows taller and fills out... (Actually I like -3L combos, but most of the judges doesn't seem to share my sentiment.. :eek:hwell: )

Yay for the broadcast! :cheer:

I would love to see videos! It seems Wakaba is on fire so she has good chanses to be in the podium in the JGPF!

But I am just wodering, where was Miyu Nakashio?

I think, iirc, the top 5 juniors here are invited to compete at senior nationals next month.

Yes but age is also considered... for example Honda last year was 5th but she wasn't invited because she was too young... the same happened to yuzuru in the 2007-2008 season (he was third that time) probably both Marin and Yuna won't be invited because they're still novice internationally

Looks like Shoma is still growing so no wonder he is struggling with his jumps. He has gotten big and strong enough to be able to do the 3A, finally though. How tall is he now? Is he still around 5'-5'3"? I am thinking he will grow at least a few more inches.

I was wondering about that as well. Miyu Nakashio is listed as "withdrawn" on the Shu-Shikoku-Kyushu regionals result page in the Senior category (http://www.jsfresults.com/National/2014-2015/fs_e/block6/data0290.htm)... The regionals took place at the time Miyu was competing in Tallinn. Is there another Miyu Nakashio, or does she compete at the junior level internationally, but as a senior in the national competitions..?

Are these results used to determine who goes to Junior Worlds?

The Junior Worlds team won't be officially announced until after Senior Nationals. Top 5 junior skaters (excluding novices!) will compete there as well. The results from the senior Nationals are likely to be taken into consideration. For example, last season the team consisted of Satoko Miyahara (4th at Senior Nationals) and Rika Hongo (Junior champion, 6th at Senior Nationals). IIRC, this season Japan has 3 spots.

Which makes me wonder - if the Miyu listed as WD at the regionals page is the same Miyu as the one who won Talinn, does she have a bye for the senior Nationals? If so, could she make the Junior Worlds team if she was in the top 3 among the skaters eligible for Junior Worlds?

This is a competition that could rival the Senior Nationals. The older girls had better be ready.
I love Wakaba's smile. She's so charming.

Miyu has been competing at senior level domestically since 2012-2013 season.
This season Japan had 15 spots in JGP and Rika and Miyabi got GP assignments, so Miyu got a chance.
