Highest GP Ladies scores comparison

Since this is the post-Olympic season, I thought it would be interesting to compare this year's GP scores to last year's (without the 2013 GPF, obviously); these are the results...

SP

Highest score 2014: 69.56 (Julia Lipnitskaya, 2014 CoC)
Highest score 2013: 73.18 (Mao Asada, 2013 SA)

Highest TES 2014: 37.41 (Julia Lipnitskaya 2014 CoC)
Highest TES 2013: 39.63 (Julia Lipnitskaya 2013 CoR)

Highest PCS 2014: 32.30 (Ashley Wagner 2014 SC)
Highest PCS 2013: 34.37 (Mao Asada 2013 NHK)

FS

Highest score 2014: 136.64 (Elena Radionova 2014 TEB)
Highest score 2013: 136.33 (Mao Asada 2013 NHK)

Highest TES 2014: 71.43 (Elena Radionova 2014 TEB)
Highest TES 2013: 70.46 (Julia Lipnitskaya 2013 SC)

Highest PCS 2014: 65.21 (Elena Radionova 2014 TEB)
Highest PCS 2013: 70.23 (Mao Asada 2013 NHK)

So how comes that the SP´s are so "low" compared to 2013?

Post Olympic season. Many skaters retired and there is no need of pushing the scores monumentum.

In 2013 Mao had some of her best SPs of her career, Lipnitskaia was attempting 3Lz+3T, and Wagner was getting credit for 3F+3T and 3Lo without < during the GP - all reasons for lower scores this season with Lip's watered down content and Wagner's tendency to < her 3T and 3Lo thus far.

I think its because Mao had just set the standards so high especially in the Mao-Yuna era. These 2 ladies are legends.

It's pretty remarkable that Radionova has a higher FS score than any FS score on the GP last season, even Mao... And is pulling the highest PCS. Goes to show just how superbly consistent she's been (and how inconsistent the rest of the field is).

Also interesting that Wagner has the highest SP PCS (even when she's not delivered completely clean SPs compared to others). Who was it who said Wagner's PCS will drop below 30 and the judges will no longer favour her? :laugh:

But Mao didn't have not one clean LP during the GP season last year. Pretty impressive that she was still able to score 136+ with an imperfect performance.
