Kevin Reynolds has a history of inconsistency going back several years, so it's always difficult to predict how he will do. Sometimes he skates well, other times he makes multiple errors.
Look at his successful results at Worlds & Four Continents a few years ago, and look at how much lower he has finished on other occasions. It tends to fluctuate back & forth a lot.
Kevin was the quad king of the figure skating world and all about jumps. His competitive results of course would not reach the highest rank and was dependent on the success of the jumps. But he started focusing and was much improved on artistry and other PCS aspects, becoming quite expressive with his unique choices of music. Unfortunately soon his skate issue brought him very inconsistent results before sidetracking him entirely. Now that the skate problem is resolved and he has been able to train well, I expect him to do much much better and consistently. It is a question of whether he will have trained and prepared sufficiently by the Nationals, especially with his ambitious number of quads, five in total. If he is able to perform almost cleanly, he will surely be the Canadian champion this year.
