NBA playoffs preempted by skating!

Under the headline "Strange but True," the Detroit Free Press has an article today about the Detroit Pistons' playoff opener against the Minneapolis Lakers in 1960.

Because the sports arena was booked for the Ice Capades that night, the basketball game had to be switched to a local high school gym. Attendance was 1,938 and the Pistons lost, 113-112.

Wow! That's amazing! Our local TV station showed an NBA game that was on another station too when 2004 NATIONALS was on!! I was so mad! The exact same game was on another channel at the same time!! But then I got to watch a rerun of Nats on ESPN! lol
