Most songs by Billy Squire. Also, I was an 80's teenager, so most songs from that era make me want to dance.

Faithless did a dance song called God is a DJ - is that the one you mean?

My favourite songs to dance to (especially when I'm getting ready to go out, or am out):

    Crazy in Love - Beyonce
    Yeah - Usher
    Round Round - Sugababes
Hole in the Head - Sugababes
    Dirrty - Christina Aguilera
Get Mine Get Yours - Christina Aguilera
    Toxic - Britney Spears
Pretty Green Eyes - (don't know who it's by)
    Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
You Can Do It - Ice Cube
That Fatman Scoop song that goes "I never knew there was a love like this before" etc)
You Make Me Sick - Pink
Like I Love You - Justin Timberlake
    Whenever, Wherever - Shakira
    Objection - Shakira
    Something Beautiful - Robbie Williams

    plus lots more

No, although that's a great song, too. The one I was talking about is by Pink, and it's the D-Bop Remix. It's awesome.

And thanks for reminding me about Sugababes Hole in the Head! They played that, too, last night. Need to go download that one...

Anything Basement Jaxx, especially "Red Alert".... "Feels so good" by Sonique.... "Danger" by Mystikal... and Anything off the new speakerbox/love below Outkast album (their old stuff makes me boogy as well)

The nutcracker, sleeping beauty and giselle... although they inspire a different sort of dancing

And when i'm feeling very texas, Kenny Chesney makes me want to two-step with my beau.

"Shake Your Thang" -- Salt N Pepa
"You Got the Love" -- Rufus & Chaka Khan
"Killer/Papa Was A Rolling Stone" Dance Mix -- George Michael
"Beautiful Stranger" Dance Mix -- Madonna
    "Lady Marmalade" -- LaBelle
"Baby Come and Get It" -- Pointer Sisters
"100% Pure Love" -- Crystal Waters
"Hold Her Now" -- Chaka Khan

    This is only a partial list -- now I'll have to dig up my "dancing songs" mix tapes and see what else. Probably not a bad thing to do anyway, since dancing is about the only form of aerobic exercise I can do that doesn't send me screaming up the nearest wall.... {Which I suppose if done correctly could be a form of aerobic exercise in itself}

    sk8ing_lady --

Thank you for answering a question that was driving me crazy; I'd heard "8th World Wonder" several times the last couple of weeks and WONDERED who that was; I never would have thought that was Kimberley Locke!! (OK, I'll cop to being a bit oblivious when it comes to stuff like this; I only heard it one of those satellite stations with no DJ; I think once you get to a certain age you just stop paying attention to who sings what...)

    for me...

Britney Spears' "Toxic" (PrincessLeppard and I shake it BIGTIME to this song--whee!)
    Jennifer Lopez "Waiting for Tonight"
The Go Go's "Head Over Heels"
    Marvin Gaye "Ain't That Peculiar"
Dannii Minogue "I Begin To Wonder" (especially the 'vs. Dead or Alive' remix!)
Chaka Khan "I Feel for You" and "Ain't Nobody"
    Bebel Gilberto "Bananeira"
Cheryl Lynn "Got to be Real" (the basis for Mariah Carey's 'Dreamlover')
Janet Jackson "All For You" and "When I Think of You"
    Lenny Kravitz "It's Your Life"
Lisa Stansfield "This is the Right Time"
Swing Out Sister "Notgonnachange" (my fave band!)
    Tracy Spencer "This House"
Vanessa Williams (my future wife ) "Happiness"
    Cathy Dennis "Just Another Dream"

I'm sure there are more I'll think of later....

    You might guess I'm biased....

I like anything NOT a soundtrack snore or overplayed (in skating routines) classical!

    Interesting danceables not already mentioned:

"Samdstorm" and "Feel the Beat" by Darude
    "The Launch" by DJ Jean

    And for you 80's fans:

"Da Da Da (I Don't Love You, You Don't Love Me)" by Trio
    "Dance Away" by Roxy Music

Okay, I'll stop now. This could get long...
