"doubles" is incompatible with "pretty new to skating". And "started so late" is incompatible with being "almost 14 (now 15)".
The spreadeagle is all about the hip structure and the joints there. It relies on natural turnout. If you don't have it, you'll never have it. But that's not something to be ashamed of. There are plenty of Senior Men out there that don't do or have spreadeagles. When was the last time you saw Max Aaron do one? I don't think there's even so much as a still photo of baby Max doing one - but that man can nail the hide out of a quad.
