Okay, fine... I'll step in here. Divas only attend major events. ;)

Well that's nothing new. We've all seen the diva Wagner talk. Can I order a side dish of Diva Mariah  Seriously. I don't think USFSA ever gave her the chances she deserves. :drama:

Thx, papagena.

I see Mariah listed as a full-fledged SLC entry.

But ... the link you gave above re Jason is for Nepela -- not SLC.

Re SLC:
I do see that Alex Johnson has been removed, unfortunately.

Oops, I just checked that after posting in the Fan Fest thread. Not sure what happened! But you're right and I'm wrong about Jason - no SLC for him. But yay Mariah!

Though it seems interesting that the USFSA updated the international assignments today with the skate America tbas determined but did not update the info on the classic. ...

BTW, the USFS assignments page finally does show the SLC entries:

Chen
Wang
Dolensky
Dornbush
Miner
Castelli/Tran
Donlan/Bartholomay
Kayne/O'Shea
Hubbell/Donohue
Thomas/Eaton

http://usfigureskating.org/Athletes.asp?id=216

Although Mariah is not shown yet, I would chalk that up to the USFS page not being fully up to date.
(The page does not yet include the announced entries for the JGPs in Poland and Spain.)

Nice to see 3 women. That link for the men, however, is for Nepala. The men's list for Salt Lake still looks the same to me

http://www.isuresults.com/events/cat00028394.htm

I'm pretty happy with the overall list. Last year we had (he) Murakami - this year we have (she) Murakami. Daisuke MURAKAMI has 2 Grand Prix events this year, rather than just one.

For those trying to keep tabs on Challenge Skate this year, here is a USFS fanzone blog entry from today:

What is the U.S. Novice and Junior Challenge Skate?

Not much information, but it mentions this year's new structure -- which already has been discussed a little bit in this thread.
(Singles in SLC at the same time as the Classic -- as in previous years; but pairs and dance in Colorado Springs -- taking place right now.)

ETA (on Sep 6):
Links to Challenge Skate results PDFs for pairs and dance are at the bottom of this page:

ETA (on Sep 10):
Links to Challenge Skate photos for dance are here:

I hesitate to post this as I can't be of much help.

I have finally seen a list of the complete schedule, marked August 31st. I do not have permission to post it but I would be willing to answer specific questions for those who are coming. Mainly it appears that most things are a bit earlier in the day than last year. Otherwise the schedule appears pretty similar to last year - with the senior levels starting on Thursday and concluding on Saturday with Wednesday as a practice day. The challenge skate schedule only includes men's and ladies disciplines - as we thought. No dance or pairs. It does include both novice and junior levels.

I still have not seen a list of challenge skate competitors.

Is this the color-coded schedule with detailed practice times or a general schedule like the one in the event announcement posted currently on the ISU site? If you have the specific practice times I'd love to know them!

Clues ;) to the practice and competition schedules are on the sign-up page for SLC volunteers:

Thx for keeping us posted, AHB :).

For others interested in Challenge Skate, the home club's entries are named here:

I'm excited to see Anna Grace Davidson at the challenge skate. I wonder if she will feel up to competing. After all, she is competing this coming week at Cup of Austria.

Got a note from Salt Lake Figure Skating that they will try to get some solid information posted tonight.

ETA - Salt Lake Figure Skating has posted a tentative schecule - http://https://www.facebook.com/pages/Salt-Lake-Figure-Skating/135702924583

I'm still pushing for a challenge skate list.

It boggles my mind that USFSA has not updated the official site yet - http://www.usfigureskatingclassic.com. It's like they don't want to acknowledge that this event exists.

There have been organizers that have said much the same thing. Supposedly they have been discouraged from advertising it locally. No idea why, but you are right the USFSA does not seem too interested in advertising events.

The Salt Lake person said USFSA had been swamped with the jgp in Colorado Springs. I sent a message through facebook to them. Please join me. I don't know how else to try. The Salt Lake Person asked me if I had a skater. I don't think they think of fans in the audience at all.

Yankowskas/Gaman will compete at the SLC Classic, per their crowdfunding page.

Just in case anybody didn't notice it in the dedicated thread, Caitlin and Hamish announced their retirement last night.

Consequently, they have been removed from the Provisional Entry List.

99.99% sure that the only official stream is icenetwork's.
FWIW, I do not remember any bootleg streams in years past.

Don't know if it will still be the case for this event, but when I was checking to see if there was going to be a stream for today's ski jumping on http://www.day.to , I noticed that there were streams for the Cup of Austria (they were direct copies of the YouTube stream).

So, you never know, they might have bootleg streams for the Challenger events as well.

Either way, seeing as all the competitions are PM local time, I won't be able to watch.
